Our room was clean; the hotel is very basic and is located in a small triangle of land bordered by I80 and two of its off ramps and is therefore in a VERY noisy location. We asked to cancel our reservation once we discovered the level of noise about an hour after checking in when we could not sleep, but sadly, the hotel staff felt it necessary to lie and allege to us and to Expedia that we asked to cancel after having been at the hotel for TWO hours, which they claimed made our request to cancel null and void. ( This time frame was a blatant lie easily disproven by MasterCard, which confirmed we checked in at 6:57pm and by Expedia, who emailed us proof that we requested to cancel our reservation at 8 pm the same night, an hour and three minutes after the hotel processed our Master Card) Not only did hotel make us pay for just the first sleepless night, but also for a second night, because according to the manager, the fact that we asked to cancel our reservation 'after 6 pm' the day we checked in rendered us having to automatically pay for a second night also. The hotel also alleged to Expedia that we were 'rude to staff' and had proof on CCTV. This again was not the case, so we asked for a copy of the CCTV footage, which of course the hotel never provided to us or to Expedia. Overall, a very disappointing experience. Terrible customer service- we really do not appreciate having been lied to or about. ( Expedia was terrific in their attempts to mediate and help )
