“From the moment we arrived the staff were really attentive and friendly. We felt very welcome and amongst friends. The room was clean and comfortable with a fabulous view of the surrounding countryside. The breakfast was cooked to order and they brought exactly what was ordered too. A good selection to choose from. We did eat in the restaurant the first evening and the food, wine and service was excellent. We spoke with some of the guests who were regular visitors and we could see why. A...

“The place is an ancient inn in a wonderful spot of the countryside. Perfect for trips along Hadrian's wall or nice walks in the fields. No restaurants in the area except the inn's one, where it's possibile to eat until 8.30 pm. Excellent beer until late. The toilet area is really tiny, but the rooms are lovely.”

“The house is beautiful. It's built around a courtyard with the bedrooms on one side and the living rooms on the other. So, even if some people are up late in the evening, it doesn't disturb those who want to go to sleep. There were 8 of us including 2 children and we had plenty of space. The many bathrooms made getting ready in the mornings very easy. The village has no facilities, but everything you need is a short drive away. I would definitely recommend.”

“Achtet bei der Buchung genau auf die Wahl des Zimmers. Wir hatten in unserem Zimmer kein Fenster. Dazu war das Zimmer direkt neben dem gemeinschaftsraum mit offenem Kamin (Tack Room). Das zweite Bett war leider auch sehr durchgelegen und ich habe die Federn gespührt. Der Check in ist nur von 16 bis 18 Uhr. Das Frühstück, das Anwesen an sich und die Betreiber sind Tip top. Trotz der Lage ist es sehr ruhig.”
