“Great comms and lovely welcome from Luba and Chris for our two night stay. Easy to find and parking right next to the front door. The cottage was spotlessly clean and very peaceful with two spacious doubles, both with their own TV and modern en-suite facilities. Comfortable lounge with wood burner, TV and jigsaw ready to go - all with lovely views over to Hardy's Monument. Ideal location for visiting the local area by car - we went to Weymouth (Catch! restaurant was fab), Dorchester, Poundbury,...

“This cottage is obviously very well loved - lots of pictures and books relevant to Lyme. Super comfy bed. Good outdoor space and then there was the fabulous beach hut! We were able to use the hut to change to swim and to leave our things safely locked away. The cottage was in a good position and had sea views.It’s a little gem”

“I booked this property for my Sister’s hen-do and it was just the most perfect property!! The house was extremely well stocked with glasses and crockery. The dining room was amazing, creating such a special experience for a formal dinner. The gardens were beautiful as well! The host, Patricia, was extremely helpful and responsive - I really felt like she wanted to ensure we had the best experience, which we did!! Could not recommend this property more.”

“Absolutely beautiful location, house is definitely a home from home. Very well stocked kitchen, plenty of utensils, crockery, cutlery. Lovely garden for my 2 year old grandson, very safe and secure. Parking rules ensure you can always pull up outside the property. Would we stay here again? Absolutely!”

“The property was very well equipped & in a lovely position on the site. It was very peaceful. The couple of queries we had were immediately resolved by the reception staff. If I was pushed to have a slight negative comment it would be that there were no instruction booklets for the kitchen appliances. ”

“Terrible property - due to stay here for 5 nights but posed such a health risk that we left immediately and checked in elsewhere at great expense. Sacks of rubbish left, outdoor dining area unusable, dangerous shower, bedroom fans covered in thick dust and mould. Is not as described - is a mid terraced property, not semi-detached as the pictures suggest. Neighbours garden full of trade waste and arguing with each other so would have been unpleasant to sit outside. Undesirable area. Do not stay...

“We really enjoyed our short stay at the Carthouse. It's a lovely property in Axbridge, with Cheddar Gorge within easy reach. Communication with Val was excellent and also waited on the side of the road to show us the entrance to the side road. The Carthouse was spotlessly clean and Val had left several thoughtful items to get us started including bread, milk, wine and cider! Thank you Val, it was much appreciated. We'd have no hesitation in recommending this lovely property.”
