“I loved this place. When I go to England, I enjoy these smaller, transformed hotels much more than bigger ones and Hand and Spear has been the best. The room I got was spacious with ample wardrobe space and beautiful decor. The bath was insane with a beautiful claw foot tub. I’m very self-sufficient when I travel so I don’t expect a room made up each day but I’m sure they would accommodate you and they quickly brought extra towels when I asked. The thing is…my room had food and a little fridge...

“An enjoyable stay at Oatlands Park Hotel to celebrate our 55th Wedding Anniversary & also a trip down memory lane as we used to work there many years ago. The staff were friendly & helpful, food excellent (a more efficient toaster machine is needed) but we had some observations to make such as amenities in the bathroom. It is usual to provide sanitary bags, shower caps etc. as standard, these were lacking. We had a Superior double room which provided our needs, a special touch was the bed...

Room was lovely which was cleaned daily. The best shower pressure! Tea coffee, water and juice in the room. Great location, walking distance to Esher town centre and the Racetrack! Spifferi dalla finestra, moquette antica, ragnatele, wc credo mai pulito nel vano interno del bordo, incomprensione tra reception e bar, breakfast domenicale 30 minuti per avere un caffè dopo 2 lamentele, parcheggio troppo stretto, vista fiume con le tende dei campeggiatori sul lato opposto.”

“2 miles from the Railway station, in the middle of some ponds, nice hotel but not adequate personnel (in mubers), location is poor, prices are high (Ascot week).”

“The room was not clean, the carpets were stained and dirty, the chair was dirty, the shower was dirty. They changed the room which was better, however I was too tall to have a shower as the ceiling was so low so I had to bath. Good breakfast ”
