Checkin- there was no manned reception desk, contrary to expectations. Had to phone the owner when we arrived- fortunately my UK mobile works in Australia. The apartment (9A) is on the ground floor. It seemed dirty- rug needed hoovered, and window sills dusted. The bathroom has a back door into a small, open drying area. This door has louvered glass and appeared insecure. We found ants in the bathroom when we arrived. Then found cockroaches in there overnight. The cleanliness of the place, and its rundown appearance with various bugs caused us to pack up after just one night of our planned 2 night stay. Very disappointed. The alternative hotel we found may have been more expensive, but it was clean, bug free and had a view!

Fan was broken/not working at all in second bedroom and the one in the main bedroom was so loud it couldn’t be used at night and definitely needs replacement. There was air conditioning. Location was good, nice walk into town and right next to golf clubhouse. There were no mugs to have coffee/tea. Overall was ok for a short stay.

The positioning of the apartments was good, lovely walk to cafes and the ocean is right at the doorstep. Parks adjacent are beautifully kept. The accommodation we originally booked was meant to have ocean views, but due to the sale of the unit, we were moved to a golf course view, which was fine, but were offered no compensation. The room was not overly well cleaned e.g., grass in the freezer, hair in bathrooms, really dirty carpet in bedroom. The furniture was very rickety and lost screws e.g., dining chairs.

No body at reception so had to case up the manger at his room, he was sitting around his dinning room table. The rooms were old and had not been cleaned properly, the tv did not work properly and unable to get free to air tv with foxtel/netflixs only working if you had an account and paid. Only one coffee cup, door to balcony was very hard to open. Parking was tight with all the easy parking reserved for the residence. Only good points were that it was close to the beach and golf club.

Close to nice beach. State of the room was grotty. Sand, hair, fluff, food crumbs over the floor. Fridge and Oven need cleaning. No hand towels and bath mat supplied. Overall one out of ten. Certainly not up to the standard as advertised on the web site. Would recommend staying somewhere else

The property was with in walking distance to town centre and eaters The beach was out the back of the apartments Generally the apartment was clean but minimal accessories such as soap and dishwashing detergent and no dishwashing tablets and no soap in second bathroom and rubbish bins weren’t emptied from previous tenants Overall the stay was good weather was perfect

Handy to Golf Course

Accommodation was handy to golf course and beach. No servicing of apartment for 5 nights (were not told this). Unit was very old and tired and needs updating. Don't think they have looked under bed for a very long time. We ended up with a two bedroom apartment that had 2 dessert spoons, 2 forks and about 6 knives. Believe we left glasses behind and messaged to get no reply. Lack of parking as well. Don't think we will be back unless things improve for the price we paid.

We stayed in room 3b, it was terrible. The curtains needed replacing, the remote for the tv didnt work and yes we did try new battery's but no luck, so couldn't watch the tv. The door leading to the private courtyard was rotting away. No soap holder in the shower recess plus there was used soap on the shower frames from previous guests. I was glad tgat we only stayed one night any longer and i would of left.

Pretty much as bad as it gets

If it were possible to post a review with less than one star I'd do so. While, admittedly, not the fault of management, the design of this complex and the unit we were given is so awful, it has to be seen to be believed. But that was just the beginning. The interior condition of the unit was a disgrace. While the surfaces and linen were at least clean (or appeared to be) but the old, filthy stained carpet square in the bedroom (and I mean stained - all over) set the tone in term's of management's apparent total incomprehension of the hospitality business or anything to do with guest comfort. Old, cheap, crappy uncomfortable furnishings. The strangest 2/3 height door to an ensuite bathroom I've every seen in my life. The dodgiest fittings and joinery imaginable. Corroded bathroom fittings. Clunky fawcets. Truly awful lighting (...forget about bedside lamps). Mismatched odds and sods of crockery. ... Where to stop. This was a quick two-night business trip and I wasn't looking for luxury. But at $205 a night I was expecting something a above the standard of a Laotian backpacker hostel. Couldn't get out fast enough.

Pros - close to beach, shops & eateries, King Bed Cons - place is tired needs a refresh, room was cleaned properly - sand on floor, shower had soap scum on soap holder, had to wash crockery & cutlery before we used it as most was dirty - dishwasher didn’t work as you couldn’t close its door - screen door onto balcony kept falling off & balcony was dirty!

Room 9B was very dusty and the floor didn't feel clean. I found bits of rubbish lying around on the floor. However the bed was very comfy and felt clean. The room was nicely decorated but a bit dingy and very dusty. The screen door didn't lock. It was corroded out. The location was 10/10. Enjoyed the beach being right there. Service was accommodating when needing toilet rolls and dishwashing detergent.

Would Not Recommend This Place

Two night for a single person, i was put in 3a ground floor. The moment i opened the door i could smell damp. Mould was noticeable The floor had not been cleaned, found toe nail clipping beside the bed. The screen door to the court yard could not be locked due to the locking mechanism being corroded. And the Curtain was covered in mould!! Seriously.😬 Every thing was dusty, furniture. Nothing seemed to be wiped down. Just the bed made. And then i checked under the sheets. The mattress protector was in shreds. Disgusting. Never been washed, falling apart!! Mould on walls. Kitchen cupboard door swinging on one hinge. Filthy oven trays, oven dirty. Broken fixtures, ??? Why could these not be fixed, even the sink plug didn't fit and the water just ran down the sink. In the bathroom, no blind of curtain over the louvers, so no privacy, couldn't shower at night. Very disappointing since it cost me $380 For this dirty Room! Shame. Wont be coming back. 😔

Bargara short stay away

Great couple of nights away. The property location was excellent and in a quiet convenient area. Undercover parking was appreciated. The apartments are somewhat tired (in need of a little facelift) but comfortable, adequate in all ways, with all you might need. My only negative was the amount of dust (obviously not wiped over in more than s month) on the bedside lamps.

One of our favourite places to stay.

Unit was very large, full kitchen and very comfortable. Shame the weather was rainy and overcast as the beach was so close. Will stay there again.
