Hotel a Cicero

“Did a 4 night stay for a fishing trip so our hotel needs and expectations were minimal, yet they still managed to disappoint. Bathrooms need remodeling to remove mold, no housekeeping or kitchen staff so only staff was front desk staff of one person. Breakfast was cold and coffee was water. They were out of several breakfast items on the 1st and last day and food was in the buffet servers without heat. Had to go to front desk to get towels every evening and they ran out on the last evening....

“Historical building with lots of character, lobby fireplace was warming on a rainy day. The first floor lobby and dining rooms are very dark, great atmosphere but bring a little flashlight. Met a lot of nice people during our stay. The welcoming scotch was fantastic. We heard the breakfast was minimal. It was not, filled with all kinds of homemade apple strudel, mushroom quiche, chocolate pastries, many other delicious sweet muffins, etc.”

The hotel itself is impressive, all the staff was very friendly and helpful during our stay. The room was not just clean but was more like a home than a hotel room. “We were really disappointed that there is no coffee in the room. There was a musty smell in the room. We had some trouble with signing into wifi....called the desk twice, no answer. The beds were comfortable enough. Location was good.”

“Good news, they welcome pets and only charge $20 per. Bad news, the room REEKED of cat urine. I wouldn’t think of sitting on the sofa. It did not look clean and probably was the source of the smell.. The bed was clean and comfortable, and overall the room was in pretty good shape. But they definitely need to do something about the cat odor.”

“Pubes in the sink. A/C blowing out heat, then the thermostat actually fell out of it. A dead room phone, shower/water handle came off, ice cube tray looked like an ash tray. Fridge & microwave from 1978. Restaurant is no longer on site. Homeless, sketchy looking people living there. The school bus actually picks up their kids there. No pool. No ice machine and it smells like wet dogs & dope! We will NOT be going back. Waste of money!!!! Didnt bother with the "breakfast" didnt want to risk it....

“The stay was horrible mold in the bathroom and along the window sill.There were stains on the shades and on the walls in the room there were crickets crawling on the shade and some where even dead on the floor .The toliet was stopped and the walk in shower was leaking water all on the floor .The covers were clean and the wash rags all looked dingy and not as clean .Never again will I ever rent a room from them again .Think twice before you book a room the hotel staff was accommodating and...
