“Tony was our host. We never saw him. Nor did we get sheets for the bed we slept in. The hot tub was disgusting and appeared to have soap suds in it. There were no bowls in the kitchen. The upstairs shower had only hot water. The downstairs shower had only cold water. There was inadequate seating in the living room for the number of occupants staying there.”

“The washhouse was great! It was very clean and just as advertised. My family had a great time and it was better than we could have planned. Trisha and Derrick were wonderful hosts and we would definitely stay with them in the future. ”

“We came for a conference in the area and spent evenings at this house. The road in was quite rutted (June visit) and caught the bottom of our low car several times. They did grade it the second day and that helped. The hot tub was lovely, listening to the whippoorwills, the woods outside the bedroom window, and the fresh cookies were all highlights. The main area is larger than pictures infer. Thank you Kendra, you have the gift of hospitality!”

“Walnut Springs was a little hard to find at first with our GPS, but the directions that the Knudsons sent us were easy to follow and took us right to the house. The driveway is tree-lined and a little rough - in fact, at one point during our stay, we began to go down the drive to leave the property only to discover that a tree had fallen across it. Fortunately, the tree wasn't very big in diameter and we were able to move it off to the side without assistance. Also, we visited at a time of the...

“Everything was as the description stated. David was awesome to deal with. He was wanting to be sure that everything was to our satisfaction. Wonderful to deal with. I hope we left the place clean enough that whoever came to follow up didn’t have much to do. I would try to get this place again if it was available. Thanks again ”

“Relaxing and enjoyable stay! Would definitely go back, maybe in the fall for the leavesStream behind house was my favorite spot to sit and drink coffee in the morning, wine in the afternoon. Lots to do, maybe a 30 minute drive. We fished, went to several caves & wineries. Definitely checkout the natural chimneys!!”

“The house has lots of space—really good sized rooms—and plenty of towels, linens, outdoor furniture and equipment, etc. to make your stay comfortable. Beautiful view of the mountains and incredible stars on a clear night. We stayed for my daughter’s graduation from JMU and it was close enough to be convenient.”
