5 BR Retreat on Beautiful Smith Lake & Close to I-65

This is a beautiful, peaceful retreat for winter, spring, or summer. Whether sitting out under the overhead string lights at night or on one of the many decks, this house has an awesome view of Smith Lake to enjoy from the deck, living room, or screened-in porch! It is conveniently located near Smith Lake Park, Speegle's Marina, Smith Lake Zipline, Slippery Summit Aqua Park, WildWater Park (slides, wavepool, etc), Whitlock's Cafe, 2 produce stands, other restaurants, & only 6 miles from I-65, Exit 305 (County Road 222). Cappy's Boat Rental is less than 1/4 of a mile from the Whitehouse. It’s a perfect location to make memories with family or friends!

This house has 5 bedrooms, including a double-bunk room with a television. There are two full bathrooms and 1 washer/ 2 dryers. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything to make your stay easy & enjoyable. Lots of seating areas inside and outside. For your entertainment, there is a game room in the basement with a pool table, dart board, and a Foosball table, as well as a mounted television. On first floor you’ll find board games and lots of dvds to choose from. Two kayaks and a paddle board are also provided for your use.

This property offers tons of room outdoors for enjoying the view of the lake while relaxing or sunning on one of the spacious decks or enjoying your morning coffee on the screened-in porch. Charcoal grill & gas grill (with gas provided) are on the deck for cooking out as well as fire pit with seating for cooking your hotdogs and s'mores! Lots of graveled parking included for guests and boat trailers.

Wander down the easy, winding rock pathway to the pier which has a 10 x 14 swim deck on dock. There is room to tie up your boats or wave runners to dock and side of ramp. There is also a boat ramp 1/4 mile from the Whitehouse to launch your boats for a $5 donation (put in box). You can also park trailers (if needed beside Cappy's -launch in front if Cappy's Boat Rental).

All four tvs are Roku- living room, game room, kids' room, and master bedroom with strong WiFi.

**Please inquire about additional weekly and monthly discounts during fall and winter off-season dates. Great for business trips or interim housing needs.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The dock does not have water under it when the water level is 502 or below (this is in early fall sometimes, winter, & very early spring); however, there is always water access from the lot. Send a message to the property manager for more information about the current lake water level or check smithlake.info for current level.

This is our second time staying here for Thanksgiving. My father, husnabnd and teen boys love hanging out by the fire ring area and game room. The home always has all the cookware we need to make a meal, a huge plus for us.

Home away from home. I had all the info I needed upon arrival. It was as easy as coming home. The property owner was at my discretion through text our entire stay. She made our vacation a dream. In my rental itinerary, she included attractions around Smith Lake. The attractions includes; restaurants, water parks, marinas, and boat rentals. The rental unit was immaculately clean. She left a few snacks for us weary travelers when we arrived. When I walked through the door I was at peace, relaxed and comfortable. This will be one of our frequent get away spots. This rental has everything that you will need when staying on the lake. Kayaks, life jackets, and paddle board were all provided. All of the cooking materials that you could need along with some basic spices. The grounds are beautiful and the house sleeps a lot people comfortably. The owner was very responsive with any questions. They even provide some snacks and basic essentials such as toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, soap, etc… i highly recommend this rental.

We enjoyed our stay at the Whitehouse and our very first time on Smith Lake! The house had everything we needed in the kitchen. The grill(s) cooked well also. The game room was a hit, especially with the kids. Very clean, homey feel. All the kids slept on the couch (instead of bunk beds one night) and said the couch was super comfy to sleep on. Plenty of room for our party of 13. We used the fire pit for s’mores one night until we couldn’t take the heat outside any longer! Smith lake was absolutely beautiful and we can not wait to return! Would definitely recommend staying here. Owners were super easy to communicate with, even checked on us during our stay, and left some yummy snacks for us.

The Whitehouse was a great place to call home away from home. The house was very well equipped. The amount of towels and washcloths available to our group was soooo very helpful. The kitchen is very well stocked. The beds were all comfortable. We loved having access to a washer and dryer and would’ve utilized the second set as well with our group if it hadn’t been broken by a previous renter. We enjoyed the game room and the kayaks. Communication with Sherry was great and she was more than happy to answer all of my questions and offer recommendations. Thank you for having nice toilet paper! 😂 My only recommendation would be to have the cleaning staff turn the air down to around 70 earlier in the day before guests check in. It was warm in the house and hot in the game room when we arrived and took all of the first day and some of the night to lower the temp enough in both areas to be comfortable.

We went with 3 family’s with kids ranging 2-12 and had a great time! The white house was the perfect stay for us! Darrell and Sherry were so helpful and quick to respond. The only downside was the water was a little muddy here, but bc the water level was low at this time. But ours kids didn’t mind at all because they would “turtle hunt”.

Amazing vacation stay! The photos do not do this home justice. Much more lovely in person! Plenty of room indoors & out for our family of 12. You could not want for anything as far as food/drink preparation. Hosts were so thoughtful to provide welcome treats upon our arrival! Located perfectly and easy access to the lake & boat rentals. The sweetest hosts were very easy to communicate with and checkin/check out was a breeze. If you're looking for a lake retreat, this can't be beat! Thanks for sharing your home, Sherry & Darrell!

Perfect location close enough to the “city life” but far enough to enjoy the peace and quiet of the “countryside” loved the convenience of not having to travel far to get items needed to cook or to go for a night out. The house was exactly as described.. the game room was a big hit for my son and the kayaks as well. We loved everything about it. Nice quiet area. Lovely homeowners who made our stay very welcoming! Will definitely return!

Host was incredibly communicative and accommodating - very easy to work with and very responsive. The property was very clean, not a single complaint there. The house comes with a full entertainment room - fooseball, pool, darts - what’s not to love? Also enjoyed the kayaks. Water access is very easy with a nice dock and level ground to push off from. Great property, would definitely be a repeat customer.

WOW! We travel a lot and have used VRBO for almost all of it. We’ve stayed in some pretty nice places and recently on a trip before this not a great one :( but this home was by far the BEST. The White House renews my faith in VRBO and amazing owners. This home is what every VRBO should aim for! This house is clean, stocked, and honestly the closest property we’ve stayed in that felt like “home”! The owners are so nice and have created an amazing property. The lake and dock were great, the game room was a blast, we played a lot of pool, and there everything you would want to do on a trip. Fire pit, fishing, a hammock, kayaks, screened in porch to sit and relax and FUN! I truly hope we are back in this area next year so we can stay here again!

The place was fabulous! Extra clean and equipped with kitchen items better than my home . There were full bottles of dish detergent and hand soap , not common in Vrbo I’ve rented in past . 2 sets of washer and dryers that cleaned better than my own stuff! Locked myself out right from get go and owners responded quickly. Since it was my birthday, I wanted to invite different large groups over on different days or how many would stay the night . Never had more than 5 but could turn over laundry quickly and get ready for next batch . Bonus so many plates, cups, glasses etc. I was by myself couple nights and felt perfectly safe even though no one at nearby properties. There was corn hole and the kayaks were great. Down side was water was super low . No swinging feet in water from dock. Did get in water from there one day but was muddy. Mother Nature rules ! There is nice park not more than 3-5 miles from place though that has boat launch, nice walking area and friendly people. Great restaurants nearby.. I really can’t say enough positive comments. I would gladly return when water gets back up in spring or early summer. Need that water ..🙂

Amazing views and so many places to sit around and enjoy the outdoors. Screened in porch was fun for card playing. Kayaking and game room were fun for all. Plenty of space outside and inside to enjoy friends/family. Beds were super comfy. Wonderful home with well stocked kitchen.
