“By most standards this was an overpriced room, about $300 w taxes, that expensive because it’s in California and just off I80. If one travels a few dozen miles east or south the equivalent hotels are half that. The good — the personnel were very friendly and accommodating. They were great! The room was very clean and obviously recently painted. The linens and towels were very clean. The air conditioner was very effective, although it sounded like a plane taking off when it clicked on. ...

“Great location for visiting UC Davis and being right in downtown Davis. Hotel was nice and staff was helpful. Wish we could have checked in earlier after a long day but couldn’t get into our room til right at 3pm. Also,no hot coffee or hot water when needed but, completely understand because it seems like they were short staffed but working hard. Otherwise, great stay and would recommend.”

The only complaint was the weak water pressure and confusing double handle showers that either were broken or not working properly. Other than the shower operation it was a 10/10 visit. “Had another great stay at Hotel Winters. Came in hot for a dinner event nearby and our room was ready, bright, clean and new. Very friendly front desk staff greeted us kindly and even offered us a glass of wine - which was well received! Nice bar and restaurant - Carboni’s. Parking was easy with a well-lit lot attached and no charge for that. Beautiful night.”

“First time staying at the Vine, and won’t be the last! Such a great little hotel. Wonderful location close to campus, walkable to everything in downtown, free parking, nice breakfast included with many options, comfy beds. Only thing I wish they had is updated TVs that allow screen casting of your streaming apps or ability to log in to apps.”

“Key card would not work in lock for lobby. TV non-functional...after three trips to desk, manager got the TV working, but it would only get three channels...felt like I was back in the 60's! Turned down one room that smelled bad. Really awful breakfast "choices" mostly gone by 8 am”
