“Exceptionally nice staff. Beautiful onsen and most of the time had the whole onsen to myself, and it’s limited to 4 people at a time at max. The breakfast was amazing. Really nice garden view from our room which is shared with other rooms but felt private. There are also lots of shops and temples to explore in Ohara that are much less crowded than Kyoto. ”

“We enjoyed our stay here. It is a bit out of the way but great if you want a quieter location away from the busy city. The hotel garden was a real delight as was the private sauna. It was beautiful to walk along the river and see the trees on the mountain. We loved the Japanese breakfast, the samue clothes and sandals they supply. We ate dinner there one night and it was fine but not outstanding and the price was high for the small portions. It’s worth noting that there are very few affordable...

“Beautiful room with traditional and modern Japanese influences. Beds very comfortable. Lovely staff. Laundry room and Onsen were really great. Bettei area of hotel had its own entrance/exit and lift, which made coming and going very quick and easy. Very convenient location.”
