Nestled on the stunning Mississippi River bluffs just 15 miles north of Prairie du Chien, this cozy cottage offers the perfect blend of relaxation and adventure. Whether you're looking to explore the great outdoors or unwind in comfort, "The Hygge Hideaway" has it all.

Start your mornings with coffee in the multi-level yard, where you’ll find quiet spots to enjoy stunning views of the surrounding bluffs. Just a 3-minute walk brings you to the Mississippi River, and you’re only a short drive from the Lynxville Dam and several convenient boat launches—perfect for fishing, boating, or simply soaking in the river’s beauty.

Inside, you’ll find a fully furnished retreat designed for comfort and fun. Enjoy:

A fully stocked kitchen for your culinary adventures.

Wonderful and relaxing stay

This house was in a great location and really unique. It had a great outdoor spaces for morning coffee. Everything was nicely appointed and the house had everything we need for a weekend getaway.

Nice Stay

We rented the cottage for a weekend bday getaway. We had a good time. We really enjoyed the beautiful outdoor area and the furniture was super comfortable. We did have an issue with millipedes during our stay. There were so many that they were crunching under my feet while walking to the restroom in the middle of the night. We quickly learned to keep shoes on, but this did take away from the stay for me.

Stayed here for a weekend of UTVing. Great location in the bluffs of the Mississippi River. Unique property with a nice updated home. Very comfortable bed and had everything we needed for our long weekend stay. Easy drive to some good restaurants. Host was outstanding. We really enjoyed staying here!

Perfect first stop on our road trip!

This was such a cute little spot to stop over for our road trip! The record player was awesome and the view of the river is beautiful! We loved being able to bring along our senior dog, Penny! Would stay again.

Cozy spot by the river

This was our second time staying here and we loved it again! Just a short walk to the river, which is visible from the bedroom. The bed is so comfy and the hosts have thought of everything you might need. We loved the snacks! If you like corn dogs, don't miss the Dawg House down the road!

Birthday Getaway

We stayed at the Hygge Hideaway for my husband's 75th birthday. It is a cozy place nestled in a quiet neighborhood, with lots of birds around and beautiful scenery. Definitely a place for nature lovers! The location is a short drive to parks in both Iowa and Wisconsin, which we loved. The Hideaway was well stocked with everything we could have wanted or needed, and we appreciated the attention to detail. It is very thoughtfully cared for and laid out!

Thoughtful little cottage

This was the perfect homebase, and the decor is the perfect embodiment of "Rustic Chic." Every detail was thought of, and appreciated. I'm a travel writer and I've stayed a lot of places. This is a spot that truly makes you feel like home away from home. And everything was perfectly dog friendly. I also feel like whoever did the remodeling job deserves a referral of some kind!
