“Friendly welcome even though we arrived late; about 7pm. Room was tidy, warm and full kitchen facilities were perfect. Close to New World to buy groceries for our 3 nights. Cleaners were lovely as well. As they are pet friendly, i will be bringing my dog next time. ”

“The rooms were spotless and the view from the veranda room was excellent. The location was also excellent as it was close to the beach and a number of restaurants in Sumner. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful.”

“Please pay attention to the food and beverage credit from skipping daily housekeeping. It can only be used in the restaurant. I don't mind the credit after all. But It wasted my time trying to use it for drinks by the front desk, for which I was told by two staff members that I can use the credit. When I went for the drink, the third staff member refused to let me use the credit by showing me the smallest fine prints. I have nothing against the third staff member. Just hope the management would...

“Don’t stay here. It’s freezing cold in the room. Heater doesn’t work. It’s directly above a tattoo parlour that plays douf douf music until 3am. That’s in addition to the pub across the road that is loud until 1am. Hotel is too tight to pay for Netflix or any streaming. They assume you are from NZ and can log in using a NZ account. Oh and you can barely open the shower door due to toilet placement. Incredible badly designed bathroom. Go stay at the Novatel. I wish I had.”

“We had a great stay at The Observatory in Christchurch. It’s a beautiful hotel—formerly a university—and they’ve preserved the original aesthetic, which gives it a lot of character. The photos honestly don’t do it justice; it’s even more stunning in person. The room and bathroom were very spacious, the bed was extremely comfortable, and everything was spotless. The location is also very convenient. Would definitely recommend staying here.”

We arrived quite early and asked about early check-in, and the front desk kindly accommodated us, which we really appreciated. Simpatica , disponibile ed accogliente la proprietaria. Vicino a tutto, ma del resto il centro di Christchurch è piccolo e non c' e' granche'”

“Our stay was for 4 nights. It was nice to have b/f each day. Would have been nice that hosts offered hard boiled eggs and maybe croissants on at least one of our mornings. Coffee was excellent. The room was quite small for this long of duration. We like a hard bed and found this one quite soft. Loved the big windows! Free parking on the side of property and great location for our needs. ”
