“This hotel is in a great location, close enough to walk to center of village but still quiet. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful and the room was clean and comfortable, with a great view of the surrounding hills.,( we had the star gazer room ) Breakfast was excellent! Highly recommend! ”

“I had a lovely stay at The Three Shires Inn which is in the lovely, quiet spot in the middle of the countryside. Loved seeing the mountains and sheep. I would highly recommend.”

“The breakfast was superb. We tried the evening menu special which was a Pheasant breast.It wasn't the best I've tasted, it was nicely presented but it was rather salty and dry. The bed mattress provided a good nights sleep and the room was spacious and clean. Well worth the 5 stars”

“Our room was on ground floor with a hot tub. Facilities were good and the bed was very comfortable. Some elements were a little tired. Staff were outstanding and responsive to all requests and questions. Nice dining area and presentation. Great central location to Grasmere village. Our only issue is that parking can be a lottery - but staff were happy to help.”

“Got a last minute deal and was then upgraded. Very comfy bed, quiet room wifi worked well , refurbished shower hot and strong. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious . Minimal staff tried hard and very friendly. ”

“We are a family of three who spent two nights in the family room. It was spotless, comfortable, very well presented with good facilities. We had an issue on our first night but the staff did their best to deal with it. Fortunately this was resolved. Breakfast was great, excellent quality and a good selection. We will definitely stay here again.”
