“The house was nice generally but the room I stayed in was very musty and smelled like cigarettes. The towels were horribly musty. It’s a must to use bleach on hotel towels but these smelled like it was not being used. The room mattress was way too soft for me. Finally, they required a $200 deposit which was not for incidentals but “in case there’s damage to the room””

“The home has a very open layout and was very clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. The property is amazingly beautiful with a lovely garden. At night the frogs come out and sing their songs. The stream and waterfall on the property is amazing. So serene and full of natural beauty. Do wear your mosquito repellent as they are in numbers in this area. Wish we had booked for a few more days as it was so nice. Highly recommend!”

“For our visit to the Big Island we stayed in Waikoloa but planned to visit the volcano. Due to the amount of driving involved we decided to spend one night in Hilo and selected the Hilo Hawaiian. The property was clean and staff were pleasant and helpful. However the hotel is showing it's age. The furniture was beat up, curtains thin in spots and the sink had a crack. The amenities were very basic - TV, mini-fridge and hair dryer. I had looked forward to sitting on the balcony and enjoying...

“Room was clean and comfortable. Loved the clean bathroom. Great shower with never ending hot water.The oversized mini refrigerator was great to have keep my bag of ice for 2 day as I we used it in our cooler during the day and refreshed it in the freezer when we returned. Kept food & drinks chilled. Hot coffee pot was well used for making hot coffee and tea.Room could use a few more hooks to hand clothes and towel bars. Bed was too soft. Would prefer a firmer mattress”
