“The property was breathtakingly beautiful. We were greeted by smiling staff with a glass of champagne to be shown around the main house. Our room was just steps from the lobby and dining areas which was convenient, however, we did have to keep the blinds drawn most of the time as all our windows (including the bathroom) faced the front parking lot. Additionally, this did not provide the most privacy as the doors/walls are very thin so you can hear most anything outside your room. It was quiet,...

“This is not the best hotel I've stayed, but it IS the best in this price range. Super nice reception, and the room was spartan but very clean and correct. I stayed here as a pause in the middle of a long trip, and slept great. Also, there's a remarkable, higher-end restaurant nearby, Vault & Cellar, which was a welcome break from the drive. I'll stay here every time I make this trip. ”

“My stay lasted a few minutes. Expedia had given me the booking even though the hotel was already overbooked. The woman at the desk at the hotel could not have been nicer. The customer service person at Expedia? She couldn’t deal with anything outside her script, and her script said I’d canceled and must pay a penalty of one night’s stay (I only reserved one night). Expedia eventually “agreed to waive the penalty.” We’ll see if the refund actually happens. ”
