“We booked Hempstead House for a relaxing night away, but instead spent the evening listening to a wedding reception directly beneath our room. The loud music, guests partying in the courtyard and noise from people returning to their rooms meant we had a very poor night’s sleep. I completely understand that weddings are an important part of the hotel’s business, and I have no issue with the wedding itself. “Overall we were happy with our stay. The outside if the hotel and grounds are pretty, the food in the evening and morning was to a very high standard. We stayed in a very good sized suite, which pleasantly surprisingly had 2 bathrooms with matching showers, toilet and bath. On the whole, the staff were polite and accommodating to our requests.
