“Perfect for a weekend getaway! Just 15 miles from historic downtown Jefferson where we spent the days. Then back to the cabin on Lake of the Pines to watch the sunset on the porch of the cabin. So quiet the only noise was the birds at the water and the squirrels chattering and playing. ”

“This place is a jewel. Close to the highway which made getting back on the road easy. Clean, safe everything working as it should and a great rate. This was my third visit to this place and I was still amazed with the beauty I could see in a place like Texas. It's just 4 hours drive from Austin and 2.5 hours drive from Dallas towards East. What makes this place special is cypress trees in the lake and their beautiful reflections. You get a different flavor in each season - greens all around in spring and summer, different colors in fall and a brown cover in winters. Also, you would be in for a treat if you are a bird lover. Get up early in the morning and you could hear several birds chirping. Tips: 1. Avoid visiting this place in summer as it's still Texas and it gets very hot and humid during that time. 2. Instead of booking a hotel in Karnack town, get a vacation rental (go Vrbo) in "Uncertain" -- yes, that's the name of the place. Most vacation rentals have a minimum of two night stays so plan the trip accordingly.
