I recently stayed at the Dann Carlton in Medellín and had mixed feelings about the experience. On the positive side, the beds were comfortable and the room decor was modern. The location is also quite convenient, close to many attractions and restaurants. The staff was polite and helpful throughout my stay.
However, there were several issues that made the stay unpleasant. The bathroom had a persistent and strong smell of urine, likely coming from a floor drain. At times, the odor was overwhelming and made the space feel unhygienic.
Additionally, the hotel was often noisy due to frequent meetings or events being held there, which made it difficult to relax. What concerned me most, though, was the overall environment. I witnessed what appeared to be a very young girl leaving a room with an older man, which raised serious concerns for me as a parent. It made me extremely uncomfortable to be in a place where such situations are seemingly tolerated. I didn’t feel safe or at ease having my young daughter there.
Because of these factors, I wouldn’t choose to stay at this hotel again. While it may suit some travelers, I believe management should take stronger measures to ensure a safe, respectful, and family-friendly environment.
