“ホテルと言うよりは旅館と言った感じのたたずまい。近くの川のせせらぎが聞こえるが、それ以外は静かでとても落ち着けるホテルでした。徒歩で渋温泉街にも行けます。”

“Nicer Ryokan for the area. Obvious reason to stay is to visit the Shibu Onsen facilities and the Snow Monkey Park and this is a great option for those activities. Pretty close to the Shiga Kogen resort. Check the Map before booking as it is not in Nagano despite the address. Diner and breakfast with Half board was very good and staff were friendly and helpful. Free shuttles were a bonus.”

What a missed opportunity if you don't. The owner is so nice and lovely. She will greet you and make you feel at home.”

“This is an authentic old-style ryokan with welcoming hosts who treat their guests like family. The building is very old and, being wooden construction, creaky and drafty, but also charming. The onsen was exceptionally clean and a wonderful first time experience for us. The breakfast was beautifully presented and delicious, with a variety of offerings we had never before encountered. We are westerners in our early 70s and were a little worried about sleeping on futons on the tatami mat...
