My kids and I planned a much needed vacation and booked this house because of its size, hot tub, and wood stove/ fireplaces.
The stove on the main floor didn’t work.
The tvs are very difficult to work.
The hot tub had mold in it.
The home has a mold issue. The patio with hot tub is not properly ventilated and the walls are literally covered in mold spores. There is also mold growing on the doormat, and mold on the deadbolt to the front door. We checked in at night, when it was dark and it took me until the next morning to process the severity of the situation. The house smells musty. The windows all had black mold growing in them, and the skylight in the upstairs suite shows signs of a water leak that’s been painted over along with water damage and black mold.
Considering I was there with my three children and dog, it was hard to fathom leaving and finding another comfortable place last minute but I saw no other option.
I spent an entire day trying to contact the property owner, who was for the most part unresponsive. She finally did send someone over to “clean” the windows but that would not have fixed the mold infested patio, that you HAD to walk through to enter the home.
I tried to explain to her that I’m sensitive to mold and needed to leave but she refused to do the right thing and refund my money. Finally, I decided I had no choice but to vacate the house and take my kids to the only place we could find with the kitchen, which was a tiny motel.
Dream homes of Oregon was a complete nightmare for us. There’s a reason they offer an industrial size HEPA filter when you are staying at this home.
