“Breakfast was of a good standard with plenty of choices. Food could run out and delays were experienced whilst waiting for it to be resupplied. They could have been more proactive in that area. ”

“I recently stayed here for a training event. The facilities were generally ok and the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food was good. Some parts of the property do feel a bit dated and could benefit from some refurbishment. The main issue I had was with the shower in my room, which had no cold water at all and was boiling hot. Unfortunately, I only discovered this in the morning, so there wasn’t really time for it to be fixed before I had to leave.”

“We had a comfortable stay at Upper House and slept well. Breakfast was enjoyable, and we also had dinner during our visit, the food was lovely and a real highlight. However, the room cleanliness was fairly basic and could be improved. The staff were polite but didn’t come across as particularly warm or welcoming. “I booked two rooms as a last minute stay. Immediately on bookimg I had two phone calls that I missed as I was in my way to the accommodation. I then received a text message to tell me they could not accommodate my booking and to cancel. I was adviced by Expedia not to cancel as this would be against the cancellation policy - I am still trying to get a refund and will probably have to esculate the process”

“Room was basic, shower water pressure very low, lighting in room not great, Breakfast - staff were doing a great job but were rushed off there feet, very busy and could not cope with demand on some food items like croissants, fruit, hash browns, sausages etc.. Also guest seemed to taking food and not eating it - wasting, and some did not care about leaving the place tidy - absolutely clueless people ”

“The bathroom was very dated. It looked like a nursing home. The flooring was extremely old. The bed was too low. Only one bath towel for 2 people. It was definitely not up to standard for a Hub. The staff was friendly and made you feel welcomed. But this hotel needs serious renovations. ”

“This would probably have been a totally fine stay except there was about 50 members of the same family staying there, maybe 75, and their kids were marauding round the hotel leaving trash, upturned chairs, broken glasses etc all over the place. The bar was a no go area because they'd taken over, so loud. Not enough staff to police the bad behavior or clean up and the parents were doing nothing.
