Neighborhood
Nestled in the pristine Sierra Cedars neighborhood of Shaver Lake, this cabin is within walking distance of a beautiful meadow where wildlife abounds, and a large pond perfect for kayaking, canoeing, and fishing in season. The Sierra Cedars neighborhood's main roads are plowed in the winter snow season, and the friendly mixture of full-time residents and vacationers make it the perfect location to enjoy a walk or hike, and chat with passerbys! Just minutes from town, you'll avoid the congestion during the busy season but are close enough to easily enjoy all the festivities of Shaver Lake including the Trophy Trout tournament, annual water polo tournament, Christmas Tree Lighting, and Country fest!
Wild Animals
Shaver Lake is home to wild animals including deer, bears, snakes, and mountain lions. Encounters with wild animals are rare, but if you do see any wild animals, respect their space, and never try to approach them. Educate yourself on what to do if you encounter wildlife before visiting any mountainous area.
Getting Around
We suggest using your own vehicle to get around. Traveling in the winter? 4 wheel drive and tire chains are strongly encouraged, and may be required by California Highway Patrol when there's snow in the forecast. The main road (Rockledge) is plowed, but we still suggest bringing a snow shovel and preparing to walk through snow if you're coming during a snow storm.
