“Struttura vecchia, pulizie superficiali. Spifferi dalla finestra, moquette antica, ragnatele, wc credo mai pulito nel vano interno del bordo, incomprensione tra reception e bar, breakfast domenicale 30 minuti per avere un caffè dopo 2 lamentele, parcheggio troppo stretto, vista fiume con le tende dei campeggiatori sul lato opposto.”

“The staff friendly and helpful, drawback was no availability for breakfast or evening meals, some sites still show them doing food. However did recommend a couple of places to visit, found a lovely cafe about 150-200 yards around the corner for breakfast.”

“I stay at this location frequently because I love it! The staff is always so kind and welcoming. It also has air-conditioning, and right now, that’s pretty important! I have had very delicious meals at OXBO, the onsite restaurant. There are choices for vegetarian and meat eaters alike. The staff also takes into consideration dietary preferences and/or restrictions. All in all, this is a really great place to stay on your way in or out of Heathrow!”

“I loved this place. When I go to England, I enjoy these smaller, transformed hotels much more than bigger ones and Hand and Spear has been the best. The room I got was spacious with ample wardrobe space and beautiful decor. The bath was insane with a beautiful claw foot tub. I’m very self-sufficient when I travel so I don’t expect a room made up each day but I’m sure they would accommodate you and they quickly brought extra towels when I asked. The thing is…my room had food and a little fridge...

“Edwina was a welcoming host! Nothing was too much trouble! Made sure we always had what we need! Accommodating our American car! Fabulous fresh cooked breakfast! Room was lovely which was cleaned daily. The best shower pressure! Tea coffee, water and juice in the room. Great location, walking distance to Esher town centre and the Racetrack! Highly recommend Edwinas home!”
