“Upon checking in, we found the hotel undergoing a co.plete renovation. Most of the main lobby closed off and the bar moved to the restaurant. The elevators were also being renovated and taken out of service 1 or 2 at a time out of the 3. I would have expected Expedia to have some type of construction notice when booking. I always stay at the Southbank when in Jacksonville, but this had to be the most disappointing visit EVER!!! Call the hotel beforehand to confirm status of renovation to avoid...

“Second time staying in this hotel on our road trips down South. It’s very sweet hotel in very private little park - very quiet area. First time around we opted of breakfast on the property and went to eat outside. This time super sweet receptionist Yelena suggested we should eat in the house because food is great,- so we did. Food wasn’t just great- it was excellent! Everything we tried was note worthy. We don’t have much going on in this part of the world, but I’m seriously considering...

“While my room was initially clean, housekeeping did not come for 2 days; needless to say garbage piled up. We had to leave early due to an untimely death in the family; because I made the reservation through Expedia, Marriott would not refund any money. I will have to rethink reserving a room at Marriott in the future.”
