“Our room had everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable & shower hot & powerfull. We ate on two nights - the food was very good & service quick. The only thing we didn't like was the peas which we both left. Breakfast was also very good with plenty of choice. We had eggs florentine & the full cooked breakfast. The breakfast manager was very friendly & very good at his job. We wouldn't hesitate to book again & will hopefully return someday soon. Extremely handy having the bus stop right...

“The only restaurant of the hotel was awful!”

“Very basic hotel, requiring refurbishment. The main problem: they offer brekfast using a Gym structure 50-100m away out of the parking. This structure is not suitable for food and the breakfast is very poor and NOT cheap. Apart from this, there is no agreement with the hotel and you have to sign a book each time you enter. Sure I'll NOT came back.”

“It's a 14th century castle, so authentic, the service & the ambience were exceptional. David & Dean in reception were outstanding, nothing was too much trouble. All the other staff were also outstanding & the food was delicious.”

“On the plus, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean and well maintained and nicely furnished. The double bedroom with sofa bed I booked turned out to be a 2 double bedroom suite with a lounge with double sofa bed which was a wonderful surprise for myself and my 2 children and superb value. All the rooms had tvs and the bedrooms both had good tea / coffee facilities. The breakfast was also excellent - self service buffet with croissants, juice, cereals and good choice...

“Staff were great, the hotel looked stunning and the grounds were amazing. The breakfast was delicious too. The room we had was in the attic so I kept hitting my head, the main light in the room was above the doorway which was around a corner so didn’t really help at all. There was water and hair in the bottom of the shower when we arrived as if someone had only just had a shower. There were patches of damp in the room around the window and on the ceiling.”

“Pleasant stay. Clean room. A not too loud alarm did disturb our sleep a little but it must have been nothing untoward? - fire regulations said to wait in bedroom until otherwise advised... fortunately no such advice was forthcoming!”

El hotel está retirado de Durham y de Newcastle, sin embargo es una opción de mejor precio con respecto a los hoteles de Durham.”

“Avoid at all costs. Pros: air conditioning during a heatwave Cons: dirty, tired decor, staff who combine disinterest with zero training, absolutely woeful in every way.”

“The staff were excellent and very friendly. The rooms etc were very well maintained. The main lift was out of service meaning a long walk to an alternative, but this only mattered when carrying luggage. Breakfast was a standard buffet, little limited with its selection but more than adequate. My only major complaint was the room didn’t have any air conditioning or air circulation. It was incredibly hot and the windows only opened a few inches. They brought us fans but they simply couldn’t cool...
