“Breakfast was nice but choice a bit limited as was the main menu. Otherwise no complaints and the food was well presented and tasty. Staff were excellent, friendly and helpful. The room was clean and well equipped. ”

“It’s the perfect stay to stop just off the M6 when driving from Scotland to England. It’s a beautifully decorated pub, with lovely staff and excellent breakfast and dinner. This time our ferry was cancelled from Mull and so we had to change the booking at the last moment. They were understanding and there was no problem rolling over the booking until we could get off the island. We will be forever loyal to this wonderful stop just south of Penrith. ”

“The lady owner was friendly and lovely from the moment I arrived. I was made to feel very welcome and was even treated to a plate of home made biscuits. The bed was comfy and I had an amazing night's sleep. Breakfast was served at a time that was convenient to me and everything was very fresh. The bread and jam were also home made. The property is in a very quiet location and in lovely gardens and provides a great place to stay during a visit to the lake district. ”

Abbiamo anche cenato la sera: ristorante sopra le attese, cucina di territorio, raffinata e buona. Ci torneremo senz’altro alla prima occasione. Ambiente curato, pulito e tipico di una Inn di alto livello.”

“Car park was full in the evening so had to park in a lay-by nearby. The staff were helpful and the breakfast was good. We were in a top floor room with a very low ceiling that could do with some padding on the corners as it was a safety hazard.”

“This is a lovely hotel, well located for stunning views of the landscape. Our room was well decorated, and had a lovely bathroom with a walk in shower. The walls were pretty thin, we could hear people in the neighbouring rooms around us. The bed was really comfortable, excellent Wi-fi and a smart TV on the wall was perfect. We had an evening meal which was served in a cozy room with an open fire, I can still taste the lovely Borders Beef. Breakfast was similarly great, and meant that overall we...

“A very warm welcome, and Ann, the proprietor, was very helpful and friendly. Room was very well furnished and presented beautifully- perfect cleanliness. Excellent breakfast as well. Can’t think of anything to improve on. We will return whenever we need to stay over anywhere near Penrith. ”
