“The person when we checked in did not seem to interested in being there. The rest of the staff was amazing and very helpful and nice. Very nice place to stay.”

I think that, given a little amount of effort and focus on concierge level service, this property could become a real resort type experience. Get a little creative and watch the rooms fill up. “We stayed for two nights. The room did not get serviced and later we noticed a small sign that stated rooms are only serviced for stays longer than 3 days. This should clearly be made known at check-in. When we called down to the front desk for a couple of wash clothes and some toilet paper, we were told that he was the only one in the hotel and we would have to come down to the desk to pick them up. In today's environment of "customer no service", it was right up to par. For the price I...

“The Gillen House is a perfect destination if you are looking for a relaxing and peaceful getaway that is close to Athens and not too far away from Atlanta. The hosts, Edward and Cynzia, were very welcoming and made us feel at home. The food at breakfast was excellent. Especially the steaks and sides that we had for dinner on our arrival evening. The room was spotless and perfect. We definitely enjoyed our stay!”

“The air conditioner did work at a minimum. There's no water in the pool I doubt there's any water in there for years. This place was obviously used by people that live there by the week. I wouldn't send anybody there”

“The room was heavily damaged, several holes in the walls, burn marks all over the bathtub, etc. It smelled as if no one had even cleaned it after the last guest. Nobody was here for check in... I had to call someone and wait for 15 minutes until he showed up. They charged extra for using a debit card AND charged me $5 for the reservation itself. I did not get that back. 1/5 do NOT recommend.”
