Wildschönauer panorama hut - 1400m

The Wildschönau Panorama Hut is located at 1400m and is a true jewel nestled in the midst of the impressive mountain landscape of Markbachjoch in the picturesque Tyrolean Wildschönau. Surrounded by a spectacular backdrop, it offers not only a unique holiday experience but also the perfect location for a ski-in, ski-out stay, directly on the ski slope, right in the middle of the Ski Jewel Alpachtal Wildschönau.



The Wildschönau, an idyllic high valley in the Kitzbühel Alps, is known for its tranquillity and natural beauty. The region is excellent for varied activities for the whole family – from exploring untouched nature to exciting adventures in the mountains. The Markbachjoch is known far beyond Tyrol's borders as a nature and hiking paradise. In winter, it impresses with wonderful ski slopes. For sledging enthusiasts, the sledge run at Lanerköpfl is particularly suitable. In summer, all hiking and biking enthusiasts get their money's worth. The panoramic hut offers space for up to eight people and is the ideal retreat for an unforgettable holiday in the Tyrolean Alps and is located idyllically on the edge of an alpine pasture, where cows graze freely in summer – sometimes just a few metres from the hut. As the path leads across the pasture, we ask for consideration towards the animals. Dogs are warmly welcome but must be kept on a lead.



The 2024/2025 renovated log cabin impresses with its rustic charm and has been equipped with noble materials. The natural wood creates a cosy atmosphere and ensures a genuine cabin feeling. In the three lovingly furnished bedrooms, guests can relax after an eventful day in the mountains. Each room is equipped with a comfortable double bed that ensures restful nights. The cabin has two modern bathrooms, with washbasin, shower and WC. The fully equipped kitchen with electric hob is ideal for self-caterers, and the cosy dining area invites sociable evenings.



A beautiful garden with garden furniture and a barbecue area offers plenty of opportunity to enjoy the fresh mountain air and spend relaxed hours outdoors.



In summer, the access to the panoramic hut is possible via a forest road up to the designated parking area for your car. From there, a footpath of approximately 200 metres, partly steep, leads to the hut. Please definitely pay attention to suitable footwear (e.g. sturdy hiking boots with profile), as the path can be slippery or muddy depending on the weather conditions. In winter, transport to the hut is weather-dependent by snowmobile or via the railway. Even in winter, please pay attention to appropriate clothing.



Arrival at the Wildschönau Panorama Hut in Winter:

Your Wildschönau Panorama Hut is located in a dreamlike, peaceful setting – right in the middle of the ski area and surrounded by a magnificent mountain backdrop. The journey itself is already a small adventure that is definitely worth it: Once you arrive at the top, you will be rewarded with a unique view and genuine mountain hut cosiness!



In winter, the cabin is not directly accessible by car, as the access road is used as a toboggan run. You can choose between two arrival options:



1. On foot or by sledge: Arrival via the Markbachjoch cable car

Operating hours: 09:00 - 17:00

2. On foot or by ski: Arrival via the Lanerköpfl cable car

Operating hours: 08:30 - 16:00



Both valley stations are located in Niederau on Dorfstraße. You can conveniently park your car at the parking lot of the respective valley station.



Please plan your journey so that you take the lift by 3:30 pm at the latest - from then on it starts to get dark in winter, and luggage is significantly more comfortable to transport in daylight.

As the hut is only accessible on foot, by sledge or ski, luggage must be transported in backpacks. This way, you'll have your hands free and arrive safely and comfortably at your destination. If you wish, you can bring sledges to pull your luggage - or use them right away for a short sledging trip on the way to the hut.



Tip: Opposite the valley station of the Lanerköpflbahn, there is a SPAR supermarket where you can stock up on everything you need before setting off.
