We booked this place in large part because it had an in-ground swimming pool. Two days before we were due to arrive, the host messaged me that the "liner" of the swimming pool had been damaged by previous guests and the pool would be unavailable for the first half of our stay. He asked we if wanted to cancel and we said it was too late. I asked for a reduction in price.Instead of reducing the price the host said he had a "private lake" with kayaks we could use and also a building with a theatre and a golf simulator we could use. We said OK.The private lake turned out to be a joke. Overgrown with weeds. The kayak paddles were locked in a shed that we had no access to. No beach. The kids went in to the murky, shallow water and my 4 year old granddaughter punctured her left foot on something and came out bleeding and screaming. The big screen in the other building was nice but was no replacement for a swimming pool, and the golf simulator was nowhere to be found. The pool was not repaired by mid-week. The repair people came but said it would be weeks before the work could be done. Turns out the owner had lied to us about when the pool was damaged, and waited until the last minute to let me know And that he also mislead us when he said it would be repaired by midweek. The house itself was nice, though not as clean as it should have been. I wrote to the host and asked for a refund of some of our money and haven't heard back from him.
