I think that, given a little amount of effort and focus on concierge level service, this property could become a real resort type experience. Get a little creative and watch the rooms fill up. We were so impressed and will be back!”

All staff were very warm, friendly and helpful, especially the owner, Inga; Karen in the office; Kimberly in the restaurant as was all the other staff employees. “Everything was incredibly clean. Room access couldn’t have been easier. Lots of attention to details in the room. Complimentary water. Frig with sodas. Very comfortable beds, bedding and cold air conditioning. Very well updated old school motor inn. Would definitely stay here again!!!”

“The Gillen House is a perfect destination if you are looking for a relaxing and peaceful getaway that is close to Athens and not too far away from Atlanta. The hosts, Edward and Cynzia, were very welcoming and made us feel at home. The food at breakfast was excellent. Especially the steaks and sides that we had for dinner on our arrival evening. The room was spotless and perfect. We definitely enjoyed our stay!”

“The property did not met the standard of Hampton. The bathroom had mold in the tile, there were no cups to get a drink of water and there was a musty smell. The front desk check in was excellent and the breakfast was superb. ”
