Awful check in

I booked this room months ago and when we got there to check in after an 8 hour drive they didn’t have us listed. We tried to contact hotels.com and they couldn’t help us so my daughter ended up booking a room for us because of the arrival time and we needed sleep. I’d better not have been charged for the stay or I will be finding a phone number and calling.

I booked this hotel through Expedia and validated that my reservations were valid since they were changing names/companies. I was assured by phone that my reservation was good to go. Driving from WI is a 10-hour drive and when we got to the hotel my reservation was nowhere to be found. The clerk was very nice and did provide us with a different room, however, the cost was different than what I reserved it for. In the new room, the shower did not work, the facet was spraying rapidly and the room was somewhat warm even though we had the air on. My daughter used the gym and it was like a furnace. We were on the 3rd floor and it was super hot in the elevators. We were from out of town and there was no directory in the rooms to help find super locally. All in all, I was grateful to have a place to stay, but not so grateful for the situation.

The hotel is undergoing repairs so the pool is not open. This was disappointing, as that was our family's planned exercise/fun after a day in the car. The staff was friendly. Hotel is sufficient. Bed comfortable. The room was not very well cleaned: drink left in fridge from previous occupant. The fridge froze all our food. I wish I'd known this because i wanted a freezer but it froze all our fruit and vegetables.

This hotel is being remodeled and consequently only about half of the rooms are available for occupancy. My room was extremely clean and well-designed. The pool is closed. The fitness center is closed. And the Wi-Fi doesn't work. But I didn't care. Huge king size bed, excellent mattress. Had a sitting area with an extra TV and all of the amenities you would expect. Coffee maker, refrigerator, microwave. When they open the pool, and I have to come back to Youngstown OH, I will certainly stay at this location!

I stayed here after staying at the super 8 across the street, this place is a million times better then the super 8 , the girls here were very friendly and helpful whenever I needed anything. If you’re a smoker you might like the super 8 but if you’re not don’t bother, stay here I didn’t smell any smoke, the room was very nice and clean, and walking distance to all the restaurants, special mention for Maria she was very helpful and even offered me a fresh baked cookie right out of the oven

Very suspicious stay. Beware.

12:30am after being asleep for 3 hours, someone tried to enter our room. They had no apparent luggage and no coats (cold outside). Called front desk and they claimed we had no reservation and they claimed we should not be there. Could hear the couple laughing in background. Desk staff was rude and claimed we were not allowed to be there, deactivated our keys. I had to go down at 1:30am and show my receipt as I booked it in my name and my husbands last name is different. It was very disturbing having this couple try to get into our room and strange they had nothing with them. Desk staff claimed they had been issued keys way earlier. Makes us wonder if this was some sort of attempt to steal from us.

4th stay in Youngstown area in 4 months

The room was a good size. The beds were not very uncomfortable and the carpet needed replacing in our room. We were put in a handicapped room So there was no barrier around the shower. This would’ve been great if any of us were handicapped. Just created a big water mess on the bathroom floor. Our room was not cleaned. Even though we were gone from 11:30 AM until 10 PM, With the do not disturb sign removed from the outside of the door. The reservation was made with one card and we checked in with another card. We specifically asked if this would be okay when we checked in and we were told no problem. They charged the room on the wrong card and ran the other card as well for room incidentals; same amount they charged for the room. When we called the hotel directly to clarify what was being done with the charges, The person on the other end was annoyed, rude and aggressive and threatened to hang up on us. They did have a very good complimentary breakfast. The hotel is a good price for what they offer. However they could train up their staff.

Hoping renovations will help

Hotel was under repair, which is needed. However, there was black mold in the upper area of the shower. Couch had stains on it. Originally, when I booked, I thought the fitness center would be open and when we got there it was not open due to renovation. Staff were very friendly and there was no issues at all with check in. Breakfast was great.

Cold and uncomfortable

The room was cold and drafty, you could see the curtains blowing with the wind outside, and the heater was loud, bed was so hard woke up stiff and sore.
