“Really nice hotel in Portales. We reserved a handicapped accessible room which was very nice and spacious and had a roll in shower. This was great as I was traveling with my 95 year old mother who uses a wheelchair or walker depending on how she feels. Only small quibble was the hotel doesn’t have a covered entry which only mattered because it was rainy(thunder storms) so we got a bit wet getting in. But a VERY nice stay”

“Friendly staff, cleanest hotel iv stayed at in awhile rooms and lobby pool, excellent free breakfast onsite bar and restaurant was nice and gas grill if your up to cooking your own food on the patio would definitely stay again ”

“There are few excellent mom and pop motels these days, but this is one of them. The owners have been giving this place TLC for over 45 years. It’s exceptionally clean, the bed was new and very comfortable, and being able to park outside my door is something I really like. If you like a quality experience with a nostalgic feel, this is the place! BTW, the nearby food options are walkable and varied as fast food and fine dining. ”

“We were on a long trip from central Texas to Northern New Mexico. We broke up the trip to stay here. The hotel was excellent. The rooms were updated, clean with thick towels and soft sheets. The breakfast was actually good and a nice surprise. We had actually planned to drive straight through on the return trip but this hotel was so pleasant, we broke up the return trip and stayed here on the way back also.”

“Friendly and helpful staff. We try to use the stairs rather than the elevator when we stay in multi-story hotels. Often the stairway is unkept. The stairway at the Best Wester was neat tidy and clean.”
