“There is a block of rooms in the Ocean Tower which are super outdated with dirty carpets, leaky shower heads, and clogged sinks. And the key card stops working ever few hours so you have to go back to the lobby to get it re-keyed . We got 3 of those rooms. They seem to be room #s 74 and up (1074, 1075, 2074, 2075, 3074, 3075, etc). Very very disappointed, really gives the Hilton brand name a horrible look. Plus, tram service to Ocean Tower is painfully slow but your other option is a 12-15...

“I thought the property was very well kept. My only complaints were the pool. It was rather chilly especially as some of the days we were there were windy. Also, we did come to this resort for our honeymoon and did mention this to the front desk during check in and there wasn’t an acknowledgement of this.”

“Nice apartment, big and quiet. Well equipped. It is in the dry area of Hawaii- no mosquitos and very sunny But the people at the reception are not very friendly and we had no housekeeping. I would have expected this thinking at the price. The carpet needs some urgent cleaning”

“The property grounds were beautiful and serene. We were so happy we chose this place outside the hustle and bustle of Hilo. The trip into Hilo was about 20 minutes, but the drive was beautiful and worth the peacefulness of the property. There were many sites to see within a few miles, such as Akaka falls and the Botanical Gardens.”

“The staff was amazing! Valorie was helpful at every turn. The meals were delicious, although the timing seemed odd, dinner being served only Friday, Saturday, and Tuesday nights. The breakfasts were plentiful and filling, the fate being a variety of quiche, fruits, bread for toast, breakfast meat, granola. The ocean views were simply stunning. And the staff mixed fantastic cocktails. Only bad point was the water pressure in the shower being a little low, otherwise everything was delightful!”

“I have stayed in the Waikoloa Beach area for years, but first time at The Shores. I was very pleased with the unit which had obviously been updated and was nicely decorated. It was appointed with everything needed for a comfortable stay and then some. We enjoyed walking the beautiful grounds. Pool is lovely. The beds were comfortable, however the big pillows were very lumpy and difficult to sleep on. The carpet in the guest room could use a good cleaning, and we missed an indoor dining...
