“Nice homely atmosphere. Clean, comfortable and Breakfast freshly cooked and served in pleasant surroundings. Come and go if you please and self cater if you want to. Sarah and her Mum are most welcoming and checking in and out was faultless. A great place to stay and would do it again. Plenty of space to park.”

“the hotel has recently changed hands and so is in somewhat a state of flux and thus in need of improvement. Likewise the buildings are in need of repair. My room was clean and tidy, though without air conditioning on one of the hottest days of the year took some time to cool down to allow sleep. I wasn't prepared with a costume in order to enjoy the pool. The barman was helpful and chatty and the abbot ale was welcome. It was, for the price paid, perfectly reasonable value for money. “La struttura è all'interno di un'area di servizio, comodissima come stop di una notte per spezzare un viaggio. Personale gentile, la colazione è un cesto che si ritira al mattino presso la reception. In camera te, caffè e bollitore. Struttura pulita, unica nota negativa quando siamo entrati la temperatura in camera era freddissima. Alzando il condizionatore si è poi riscaldata nella notte col passare delle ore. Consiglierei di impostare le temperature un po più alte a camere vuote. ”

“I arrived at the hotel very late night and tired, and I had to wake up early for my 8:00 a.m. flight. While walking barefoot in the room, I felt something sharp under my foot — it was a piece of nail that a previous guest had cut and left on the floor, which clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly. It was obvious the room was not clean, but since I needed to rest, I decided to mention it at the reception before leaving. “Excellent B&B in a great setting with super friendly and professional staff. The room was very well looked after, it was in pristine condition and had all of the amenities we needed. Convenient parking right outside, and the best breakfast I've ever had at a B&B - A selection of cereals, fruit and yogurt, freshly baked pastry, juices, tea and coffee and a delicious cooked option. Amazing value, highly impressed and we will definitely return if we're in the area again!”

“The staff were very helpful and nice, the bed and bedding were decent, as was the breakfast. Unfortunately it's on the main Derby road (A6) in Milford which is a couple of miles away from Belper centre. The room was incredibly hot due to the recent weather (naturally) but the window in room 3 has no means of keeping it open as the window stay bracket has broken. A fan was provided but made little difference. The toilet seat is also broken.”

“We have stayed at this accommodation several times now, as it is nearby to one of our daughters, when we visit! We thoroughly enjoy all aspects of The Lodge, apart from the shower! In my opinion, for elder people such as my wife and I, there are no supports to hold on to, and I am concerned that we might slip etc. Despite mentioning this, nothing seems to have changed! Perhaps this issue could be “flagged!” Other than that, I would thoroughly recommend The Lodge!”

“Stayed here for one night. Was given the Honeymoon Suite which was amusing. Room was in roof of the hotel and was unbelievably hot, even with velux windows open. Was given 2 fans which didnt give out any airflow even though they were on full speed. Massive bath but nothing to put in it with the water. Room cooled down by about 2am. I'm sorry but breakfast was awful (scrambled egg that was white and sausages that were rubber). Bed was comfortable enough and staff were cheerful and helpful.”
