“Room was fine with what looked like a recently refurbished bathroom. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The food was beautifully presented and of à high quality. Would definitely stay here again”

“Very helpful and friendly staff. Room clean and bed comfy. A bit of a wait for dinner but it was well worth the wait; delicious. You couldn't find a more fabulous landscape as the setting either. ”

“The kitchen closed at 8.40 so had to find somewhere else to eat. Shower had a dribble of cold water only. Paint peeling off walls in the bedroom. I asked for a partial refund as the shower not working which was flatly denied. Whole place was in very poor condition. I’d never stay there again or recommend it to anyone.”

“Our stay at the castle was fabulous. The staff were excellent to deal with and the facilities are stunning. The kitchen is well equipped and we were pleasantly surprised to have access to launry facilities. The room was nicely finished and very large. I highly recommend the Muncaster Castle and our only regret was not budgeting enough time to fully enjoy all that is available.”

“Pretty remote so if you’re out driving, make sure you become familiar with the (fairly convenient) bus schedule, although it’s a half mile from the bus stop, or be prepared to pay a healthy taxi/Uber fare from Keswick. The grounds are lovely and rooms/common areas well-maintained. Breakfast doesn’t start until 0745, very inconvenient for an early start. Staff could be a little more helpful in pointing out bus schedule, local attractions, arranging cabs, etc. a nice experience overall.”

“Un albergo in posizione isolata, ma vicinissimo a Keswick. Camera molto comoda, pulita con ottimo letto. Colazione super, molto curata. Personale attento e gentile. Abbiamo anche cenato la sera: ristorante sopra le attese, cucina di territorio, raffinata e buona. Ci torneremo senz’altro alla prima occasione. Ambiente curato, pulito e tipico di una Inn di alto livello.”

“Smashing location - nice accommodation, don't be put off by the somewhat weathered exterior of the building. Clean and comfortable room, OK breakfast, nice evening meal, though note that if you book dinner the drink they offer you is NOT included, which only became clear at checkout! Great location, competitive price, nice grounds. Dog friendly. Pleasant and helpful staff, though a very small team”

“Room is very basic. Breakfast is basic. Nice chef though, came specially to apologise for the limited options. In general the B&B is overrated extremely overpriced. Not happy at all that I booked it”

“Comodo se siete in auto. Vicino a Keswick e a poche miglia da Grasmere Ambleside e Windermere. Pulito e moderno. Colazione abbastanza ricca ma usano prodotti di pulizia scarsi perché i tavoli erano sempre appiccicaticci la mattina. Nel complesso resta un'ottima scelta. ”

“BEAUTIFUL location, ideal for walks and driving around the Lake District. Very well equipped spa/resort hotel with plenty of FREE parking. Nice restaurant, VERY large room with nice view. Full bath to relax in after a day's hiking.”
