AVOID! Smelly, noisy, decrepit dungeon. 0 stars.
Long version:
The pictures of this listing is not of the apartment you will stay in. It felt like somebody is milking the last penny out of the really run down place. The building is old and decrepit, it smells gross, the carpet is from the dinosaur era. The elevator was out when we arrived, it may have worked when we left, but it is so old, I think carrying my bags up and down 2 flights of stairs was a sound decision.
We made a big mistake not leaving as soon as we walked in the door. The apartment smelled horrible even through it was drenched in some kind of air freshener. The bathroom is gross, its ceiling is full of peeling paint, the water pressure is low. The sheets are from a synthetic material of indeterminate origins. The floor creaks above and below, noise travels in from all directions.
I asked the owner/manager whether we can check in before 3pm and was told that we have to pay $50 and will be told if it is possible on the day of the arrival. I never heard back about early check in but was asked on the day of check out to report right away when we leave so they can arrange cleaning.
We have been spoiled by well run and welcoming VRBOs in the past, this one is a BIG exception.
Very disappointing.
