“Not the fault of the facility, lightning had destroyed the elevator control council and the Ice machine on our floor. I am 76 with bad arthritis and don't do stairs well, but there were no rooms available on the first floor. When we got to our room, the toilet would not stop running. “Nice ambiance (rustic/deer camp) and a decent breakfast. Didn't serve meats (sausage/bacon) every day. WiFi was very spotty, which was quite inconvenient. No towel bar in the bathroom, which meant we had to get fresh towels from the desk everyday (who likes using cold, wet towels a second day?) The Illinois river is quite close which is very nice if you like a good view and the smell of dead carp. The bar was pleasant, but closed at 8:00 during the week. Housekeeping is available every...

“The online reviews for this motel that already exist are perplexing to me. The reviews are so bad it almost frightened me away from staying here. What was my experience here? Firm bed, clean sheets, firmer pillows and a staff that mercifully knows how to leave a remote traveling professional worker in complete peace here. “Room was disgusting. Sheets were stained. There was dust and crumbs everywhere. I felt dirty staying here and won't be staying again.”

“The reviews and photos online were very misleading. We were warned not to eat the breakfast, which was set up in a closed restaurant. The bedding was stained, the towels were burned with holes in them. Our smoke detector was hanging by a wire. ”

“Pros - Intake staff member was excellent and deserves recognition and a raise. Good value for price, compared to other properties. Cons - Ran out of key breakfast items by 8:30 am. Bathroom tub faucet needs upgrade. Make TV easier to use (it's world Cup time!!).”
