“Upon arrival they asked me for a cc as a guarantee. it appeared that my 3 credit cards were declined. I offered to leave cash. I was asked to cancel the booking and leave, despite having been a customer for years. I asked to retry and Then by changing pos the cards were accepted but no apology was made. I asked for the welcome btl… because it was part of the offer. No cleaning of the rooms for 3 days!!! but it was not specified in the offer, and in the bill an additional daily fee for amenities,...

“Great stay”

“Very enjoyable stay at the Benson. Staff was super friendly, and the room was comfortable, well appointed, and clean. My only "negative" is that the disabled friendly (no steps) entrance was almost always locked from the outside, even during the day. This was a minor inconvenience for me, as I am mostly mobile, but would have been a major one were I in a wheelchair. Otherwise, it is a fabulous hotel and I would absolutely stay again!”

“The room was small but perfect for a quick one night stay in town. It was clean, and despite other reviews about it being noisy it was pretty quiet. We did use the noise machine and that helped drown out anything. We just parked around the corner at a parking garage overnight for $14. It was $62 for valet and the staff said the lot behind was not patrolled so we opted for the garage. No issues! ”

“There are a lot of older, historic-feeling hotels in downtown Portland and this one is pretty mid. The room I had was large but outdated in a non-charming way. The breakfast option was nice, but not complimentary. ”
