“We have stayed at this motel before. The only negative thing is their breakfast is disappointing.”

“Place was clean and nicely updated. Area in the front lobby was nice and spacious and worked for our group of state golfers to hang out and eat pizza together. Had a great time while we were there!”

“The ice machine downstairs was broken, so you had to take an elevator of dubious origin to the 3rd floor for ice. Further, no sundries shop. Just a couple of vending machines with warm Pepsi products.”

“Cedar Falls is a surprisingly robust community and the Blackhawk Hotel is a hidden gem! The staff is engaging and generous and go the extra mile to make sure you’re taken care of and heard. This is an historic inn, so the premises are burnished with years of use, which I think just adds to its charm. Main Street is dotted with several unique eating, drinking and shopping establishments and our nightcap at the Bar Winslow in the hotel was the perfect spot for our too-short stay in Cedar Falls.”

“I've stayed at a lot of hotels of this chain and unfortunately this location was not up to par. I was in town for my daughter's high school competition and we spent all day (8+ hrs) at the high school and called ahead to make sure our room was ready by the time we'd be there and they said yes. We arrived an hr after check in only to be told we would have to wait another hr or so. I had exhausted kids ready to crash and the front desk receptionist could not give me a time frame. “The property isn’t as described as it is. There’s no pool, no breakfast or coffee regularly. I have only seen one person who made coffee! I have a little white dog who can barely walk due to health conditions. The manager claimed that she was out running the halls but yet can’t really walk. I don’t know how she would get the door open! Poor management, drunk and swearing a lot. If you can afford extra money for a different hotel I would recommend it!”
