“Our first stay in a Rakuten property and it won’t be our last. Loved the room, which was more an apartment really. Every thing we would or could need was provided though I wasn’t expecting a telescope to see the stars! Check in was digital and very easy. Welcome pack was unexpected and very good - especially the red wine. Loved the private onsen and balcony foot spa. There was also a sauna but we didn’t use that. 10/10. ”

“This place was a dream after a busy few days in Tokyo. The onsens (private and public) were serene, the property and rooms are beautiful, and the service was impeccable. ”

“We stayed at the Superior Twin Room with private bathroom. The view from that room was simply amazing. We really enjoyed making good use of the kitchen and common areas. The kitchen has utensils, coffee, tea and filtered hot and cold water. The common area also had a bunch of different books and games if you felt like having a relaxing day. The best part of this place is the Onsen. Also, there is a 7-11 within a 3 min walk. Overall, I highly recommend ”

“The photos do not do it justice. This house is immaculate! I love the smell of new construction. Every room was nicely done, super clean, full amenities, everything you'd need to be comfortable. An easy 8-10 min walk from the train station even with rolling our carry on luggage. The 7-11 store is about a 3 min walk. There are about 2-3 bus stops very close to the house depending on which route you're heading to. This was a good base to stay for the Hakone loop. We walked to the Open Air Museum...

“The onsen was lovely. The public bath was clean and well stocked. The room was cleaned daily.”

“The house was difficult to find and, as mentioned, had a steep hill to walk down. When we entered, it smelled strongly of gas as there were 3 gasoline jars directly inside the door. The smell gave all four of us a headache. Also, it was VERY cold, due to missing windows. The heaters were set at max and we were still very cold. Lastly, the floors are not stable. In the dining room, it felt like we were walking on cardboard, as the floor flexed and moved when we walked. ”

“Very nice location (in the hills, near the bus stop, 10 mins from Ashi lake). Easy check-in (although English is nearly non-existent). Good structure, rooms are nice and wide, traditional futon beds, hot fans and air conditioning. Working at the garden since like a year. Did not found any onsen/public bath. A little overpriced for what it has to offer.”

“Staff were lovely, room was clean with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was small but worked 3 pastries a person a salad and yogurt. Just be aware we booked the "Japanese style Superior room" and there is no shower in this room you have to use the public bath. This was not an issue for us but I feel is good information when picking. Also enjoyed the Spa Hotel up the hill. ”
