“Booked on the spur of the moment. Excellent price. Fabulous clean room. Large bathroom with corner bath and powerful shower. Lots of hot water, clean white fluffy towels. We upgraded to King size bed, patio doors to outside decked veranda. Fabulous in the warm weather. Next door to the pub and restaurant. Excellent food, good menu both evening meal and breakfast. Couples only at the moment. Well worth it. Would definitely stay again. ”

“Our first time in an olde English castle. It was a real treat. We had a castle feature room with a large and very comfortable bed. The feature was a bathroom in the wardobe ( I kid ye not ) It was very clean and tidy. The floorboards creaked a bit but this is a castle built in 14C so we can excuse that. “Our stay at Burnhopeside Hall was one of our most memorable ever. Christine, our hostess, was delightful and helpful. The room was spacious and the surroundings could not have been more grand. This is a stately old home, full of beautiful furniture and dishes, near sheep pastures and the river. “Not great for EV drivers as when you take the car to charge, you cannot return to the hotel to park. And the cleanliness in the bathroom prevented me from bathing my 3 year old.”

“This was a very nice comfortable place. We had a little trouble finding it. Was easy to check in and out of. The only suggestion I would make was to put the exterior patio lights on a timer so that they turn off at night— if it’s hot and you have the window open then you have all the light from the patio. But it was very clean and comfortable.”
