“We checked in to this beautiful old inn, and were greeted by owner Johnathan, we were shown to our room and told if we needed anything just ask. Being the winter the kitchen is closed Monday and Tuesday which Johnathan apologised for, we replied it’s absoulutly fine. He told us of the local Chinese just up the road and said please feel free to bring it back to our room to eat, which we did. Excellent Chinese takeaway. We slept like logs and woke to have full breakfast that Jonathan cooked which...

“We really enjoyed our stay here. Didn't get to sleep til late as there was a private function but this isn't anybody's fault we were staying in a pub and expected noise. The room was lovely, very nice coffee! The staff were friendly and polite. No real parking available but we managed to find a space fairly close by. The kids loved the room and we would definitely stay again.”

“Lovely coaching inn in beautiful Yorkshire Dales. Welcome very friendly as was service throughout stay. Room not huge but adequate and very comfortable bed with good supply of linen. Whole hotel was kept well heated. Beautifully cooked dinner and breakfast. Would definitely stay again though not sure if menu changed much.”

“We spent a night at the Wheatsheaf, to break the long drive from Scotland to Berkshire. Our room, although not huge, was clean, with crisp, white bed linen on a very comfy bed, and with lovely views of the pretty village church. Although warned about the frequent bell ringing, it did not disturb us in any way. Nice, white towels were provided in the shower room. “The restaurant was excellent although the service was slow as there was no Maitre d' at the door to welcome and we had to wait quite a few minutes to be seated.
