Mr. Yoneda reached out to me several days in advance of our arrival with check-in information along with photos to show clear directions from the train station to the house. He greeted us when we showed up, explained all that we needed to know about the house and ensured that all of our questions were answered. “Nice renovated traditional house, 1 JR train stop near Kyoto station. Very clean, convenient. Improvements: 1. please remove the wood planks that shrinks the entrance for no reason. It's ugly and literally 50 cm wide: if you're fat, you cannot pass through the doorway and enter the house. 2. Change plastic tableware for ceramic, microwave smells burn, maybe add an induction cooker. Overall nice place to stay in Kyoto.”

“This hotel is truly like stepping into another world. The service is impeccable, the room we had was gorgeous and superbly clean. We were lucky enough to have a private onsen with very clean water at the perfect temperature on a lovely little lanai. All of the staff are very friendly and professional and the food is fantastic as well. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a touch of classic Japan in Kyoto!”

“Our crew enjoyed a delightful time in the Kyoto farmhouse. The hosts were most accommodating, Hideo-San is a man of many talents, and his wife is compassionate and very kind. The house itself had the necessary items for cooking and living comfortably. There is a very sweet café, which features kitties and delicious food just a few footsteps away. If we ever find ourselves in this part of the world again, we will certainly reach out and reconnect with these sweet landlords. ”

“Our stay with Hideo and his family made our entire trip to Japan. Saying this is a vacation home does not do it justice. It’s more like staying with family. Family who take you around to see the sights, family who take you in and enjoys a meal with you, who treats your children like their own, shows you all the best things Japan has to offer.
