The best thing about this hotel was its great location!! Right by fisherman’s wharf, various dining options and shops near by! The aquarium is just a few minutes away. The perfect location! They brought up breakfast in bed, as long as we filled out our menu the night before. Beautiful room, we had the cannery row view and that even satisfied our needs! The room was clean overall, I just felt that it was the little things. Felt that it needed a better sweep and seemed like the bathroom could have been better cleaned. Nothing crazy though! I would recommend this hotel most definitely! It is on the pricier side but thats what you’d expect for Monterey.

Talk about service! Spindrift went above and beyond from check in to check out. We had such a lovely stay we had a hard time leaving. They made sure that we were well taken care of and were not left wanting. Complimentary wine and cheese in the evening and breakfast in the morning were an amazing touch. Room was super clean and even with a street view it was super quiet. Fireplaces and a personal sauna in the room? Amazing! Everyone was super helpful and beyond hospitable, would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a little romantic getaway.

For our first trip to Monterey staying at the Spindrift Hotel was the best! The location is the best! Near many yummy restaurants, the beach, parks, bars, shopping, and the aquarium! We got the corner city view on the 3rd floor and it was amazing! You can open up the windows and take in the ocean breeze! We recommend this hotel for you stay in Monterey!

Lovely hotel with really helpful staff. Loved our stay except our room was incredibly hot. Turned down the thermostat on the heater but it didn’t work. Had to open balcony door but that made the room very noisy as we faced the street. Everything else was excellent.

The staff is unbelievable and so accommodating. We are beyond pleased with our stay and couldn't talk more highly!! And the ocean view was to die for!

Most everything was good. Shower was very small. Our view was of a power pole & wires 😏. Couldn’t use fireplace because it overheated the tv above it

Cute little inn. Service was great throughout all points of our stay! Appreciated the wine reception in the lobby and the free breakfast the next morning. The outside stairs on each side of the inn led out which was great. Easy access to the tiny little part of the beach that was there. Very convenient!

The check in was very slow. Breakfast came almost an hour late. No instructions in the room on how to work the TV or fireplace.

This hotel was amazing! The staff were very friendly, the location was ideal, and the room was spectacular. Upon arrival, we were upgraded to a corner room which had a wonderful view of the water. It felt like the waves were crashing right below us. When we are back in Monterey, we will definitely be staying here.

We enjoyed our stay at the Spindrift Hotel. Our room had an excellent view of the ocean and had a fireplace in the room. There is a happy hour daily wine and cheese- that is a nice touch. The hotel’s location is perfect for visiting the Aquarian, shopping and restaurants. The Hotel staff was friendly and accommodating.

Lost booking
We had a booking in Spindrift Inn (Monterey) from December 29th to January 1st. When we arrived at the hotel, we were told that Hotels.com had not sent the reservation. We were proposed another hotel for the same nights. We were supposed to have to have a view on the ocean and the sound of the waves crashing on the beach. Instead, we had a view on an Exon station and the sound of cars & trucks + some loud partygoers. Hotels.com + Spindrift: please avoid the standard pre-written apologies and just answer this simple question : which one of you failed ? Spindrift, if this was you: you claim to be among the best of Monterey’s, but overbooking (voluntary to improve profitability by selling remaining rooms in other hotels of the group or involuntary by mistake) is not at the standard to want to be. How do your future guests know you will not do the same to them? Hotels.com, if this was you: the service you sell is based on reliability. If you cannot insure it, why should yours customers book through you instead of going direct to hotels? To both: you impose penalties for late cancelation (one night or more), but how do you indemnify your customers when you are at fault ?
