“I have always respected the dignity and beauty of historic hotels, and finally got the chance to experience the Brown. The architecture of the public areas is magnificent. It is clean and well maintained. The food was extraordinary. Unfortunately, check-in is a sad introduction to the historic experience. The staff was polite and responsive, but the logistics were deplorable. Traffic jams were common at the front door, and anyone not using the valet was relegated to an alley side-entrance...

“Hotel was clean and exactly as listed! Breakfast was perfect with waffles, eggs, French toast, cereal, yogurt and various breads. The bar tender, Stephen, was amazing!!!! He offered suggestions as to some great places to visit and also made fantastic cocktails! This hotel was only a few blocks from 4th Street Live! Great place to stay! Will definitely be going back! ”

“The staff and check in was great! It’s an older building so it could stand some more updating. But all things considered it a great place. Perfect for Thunder of Louisville!! Sadly through no fault of Galt house the surrounding area has declined quite a bit. Luckily there are nice restaurants, bars, and entertainment on property. We will definitely go back!”

“The place has character and seems to be well taken care of. Breakfast is different and well prepared, but not that filling. Our biggest problem was not getting any hot water in the shower or the bathroom sink tap even after letting the water run for 20 minutes with the knob turned to the max on the right hand side (tried other settings too). And the bnb message about the access code did not arrive “within 48h of check-in” as given in the Expedia description, but just 5 hours before check-in,...

“The rooms were spacious and clean. Housekeeping did an amazing job keeping us stocked with towels. We were traveling with a volleyball club so the complimentary breakfast was a huge convenience and help with getting our girls fuel in the morning before heading to the tournament. The breakfast had plenty of options. There was an omelette bar, fruit salad, oatmeal, pancakes, waffles, sausage,etc. The hotel offers many spaces for groups to gather and hang out.
