“We expected a small room, but it really left a lot to be desired considering it was “recently renovated”. It had a nice paint scheme on the walls, a nice shower head and very warm water. Unfortunately there was a very strong cleaning product smell which lingered for hours, even with the window open. “Great place to stay, certain rooms have no bathroom and have to share a space down the hall. I was surprised by this but I should have read the description better! It is a beautiful historic property with great beds and lots of peace.”

“Easy check in. Great communication. Clean room. Be prepared to walk upstairs. Rooms are on 2nd floor. decor is older but clean and comfy. Kitchen was well stocked with dishes and cooking items. Coffee and ice cream shop down stairs. Owners run these shops too. Super friendly. The soaking pools are downstairs...Wonderful after a day exploring the mountains. Town is very walkable. Lots of shops, restaurants and a small grocery store with all the basics we needed. Would definitely stay...

“It is situated in an adorable little town. The room was nice and the bathroom awesome. There was no tv in the room, which was a little different. We could not figure out how to work the thermostat. Two "issues" that we had: 1. The second night the bar was very loud and we were the first room from the bar. There were also doors slamming everywhere. 2. It was advertised as getting a bottle of wine for each night stayed there. This we had to ask for and then they needed to verify.”

I had to take away stars because the primary reasons I booked at this location was that the property information listed breakfast being included and laundry facilities as a convenience. The owner said they haven't provided breakfast in quite a long time and the laundry facility was a laundromat across the street.”

From our arrival til we left...we were welcomed by all staff and any questions we had were easily answered. The location, for us, is amazing. We enjoy walking and you go out the door, take a right, and in about 30 yards you're on Main St. looking at the views of the awesome box canyon. “We loved staying at the Altus Lodge! The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. There were so many touches that were added that made it a great place to stay like the soft robes and the s’mores kit. We will definitely stay there again!”
