“All the staff were friendly and super helpful. The resident pianist Alan was just fab. He was not only good but made you feel very welcome and spoke personally and passionately about the songs he was playing and gave some history behind them. He played all types of music and even asked the type of music we liked etc so he could play some for us. It was a pleasure to sit and listen to him. Our room was large and very comfortable and having the balcony that wrapped around made the views even...

“Great stay ”

“Stayed for one night, family of four. We were pleasantly surprised from the moment we stepped through the main door of the building. Were greeted with a big welcome in the cosy and beautiful lounge. House was very clean. Staff were wonderful, friendly and gone out of their way to serve us. They lived up to their standards of "from home to home" saying. Breakfast was plentiful and very tasty. Thank you.”

“We paid extra for a room with a balcony overlooking the sea - and so glad we did! The room was spacious with a couple of comfy armchairs we sat in with the doors to the balcony open just soaking up the sound of the sea. Everything about the hotel was well done - the breakfast spread was excellent, even the lifts came as soon as you pushed the button! But the best thing about it was its location, right by the sea and an easy walk into the lovely part of town with theatres and restaurants. Loved...

“Absolutely superb in every way. I will stay here again. On arrival I was shown the bar, restaurant and lovely garden by the receptionist. Facilities are everything I wanted and the staff so helpful and welcoming. Five stars in every way.”

“Had a lovely stay at Powdermills. This is a real hidden gem - beautiful grounds, comfortable room, friendly attentive staff, lovely food etc Decor a bit dated and tired, but understand due for a refresh soon. ”

“Room was clean and wuir”

“We used this a base for the beachyhead marathon. Was perfect for our needs. No lift though so expect to be tackling multiple flights of stairs through the labyrinthine property. It was very reasonably priced for location. Though that does translate to the amenities, but if you are looking for a short stay budget option with a bar open 24 hours for guests and 24 acess to pizza, its a great shout and will save you a few quid. Its about 5 or 10 minutes from some excellent local pubs....
