The location is excellent — just steps from the beach, which is always the highlight of staying on Mission Beach. However, as they say, you get what you pay for here. The house is quite worn, and the cleanliness was about a 6 out of 10. The rugs and furniture were noticeably stained, and several of the “clean” dishes needed to be rewashed before use. There were no extra amenities provided — a few additional towels and washcloths would have made the stay more comfortable. Noise was also an issue: the kids in the upstairs unit sounded like a herd of horses, and the next-door neighbors hosted a large group of 30 people all day and partied loudly until after 2 a.m. With no air conditioning, we had to keep the windows open, which made sleeping nearly impossible. I’ve rented on Mission Beach multiple times a year for the past four years while my child has been in college nearby, and unfortunately, this is not a property I would choose again.
