The structure has been completely renovated since my last visit, improving both the general appearance and the services. The numerous bars operating within the structure were wonderful and very high quality, despite having a room that overlooked the swimming pool where music entertained guests, the room was pleasantly soundproofed and the light background music did not disturb at all. The bar inside my room was really great!!!

This was our first time staying at Lafayette Hotel and it was amazing! We received great service from our arrival to our departure. We also had the best sleep we’ve ever had at a hotel in their super comfortable beds. The ambience and decor is next level and creates such a fun atmosphere. I really appreciate their attention to detail in the interior design and room amenities. We will absolutely be back!

Hotel is clean and friendly service . Just keep in mind its a party hotel. Best not to bring children. The bars are out of control. No structure or lines. Make your way to the front and yell order. Second night waited for 45 minutes, and reached the counter just so the bar tender to inform me that he is closing on his side. Would be better if they had some kind of system so i could spend money there and not go to the liquor store down the street.

Very eclectic and unique hotel. Beautiful pool and bar. Fun, pretty and delicious drinks. Friendly staff. Love the fully stocked bar in the room complete with recipes and fixings for cocktails with fresh citrus and juicer! Bed was very comfortable!

This place really takes you back. My wife and I really enjoyed this hotel and their live music they have in their basement bar!! I wished we would’ve took advantage of the pool. We really appreciated this hotel and what it has to offer. Definitely going to keep my eye on this hotel and cross my finger for a low price room xD

One of the most unique and beautiful hotels I’ve ever stayed at, And one was such a rich history! Next time I go to San Diego, I will definitely stay here again! I love the choices of where to eat, the bowling alley cocktail bar, and just the vibe and decor!

Staying the night here feels like sleeping at a pawn shop / thrift store. The rooms are cluttered, junky and full of ugly worn out stuff. Also, don’t plan on getting any sleep as it’s crazy loud… even though they provide ear plugs. The service is horrible- valet, check in, bartenders- none are helpful or interested in providing service. Skip this place or just have a drink here and move on!

Cool place. Good vibe. Good music. Swanky taste. But the Parking situation is no bueno— best bet is valet and then use an Uber around the area

I like everything about the hotel. The Decor is amazing. The formal dining is all right but very dark! Love the patio seating facing the pool I had a little issue doing my make up and hair in front of the large mirror across the closet because The lighting was really dimmed!

Small room, very dark rooms, and the A/C in our room took a long time to cool the small room. No parking is inconvenient unless you want to fork up $38.

The Lafayette is an eclectic and gorgeously-decorated hotel! The staff were wonderful throughout our stay. I was surprised to discover the rooms do not have several hotel amenities that I find fairly standard, like safes, luggage racks or benches, and tissues. This is a party hotel, and music and conversations from rooms next door/above/below are very audible until about 5am nightly. The property has a ton of stairs and several sections/room types do not have elevator access, so we did have accessibility issues throughout our stay.

This is one of the coolest hotels I’ve ever stayed at. The fact that you can be entertained without needing to leave the hotel the whole day is really a special touch. Every detail is curated to perfection, all the way down to beautiful paper in the room with your name printed onto it. All the staff members were friendly and accommodating. I highly HIGHLY recommend this as a place to stay on your visit in San Diego!

This hotel is incredible! From the moment you enter, you realize this is not your typical hotel stay. Every section of the hotel is unique and vibey. From the gorgeous pool, to the mexican church designed restaurant, the 24/7 old school diner, elevated game room with cocktails and bowling, and of course the amazing lobby bar. My wife and I had an amazing time and could not stop chatting about how amazing the Lafayette is. The rooms feature full min-bars unlike anything I have ever seen in a hotel before. The beds were so comfy. Bonus tip: Book a room poolside! We will be back!

This property is BEAUTIFUL. The Lobby Bar is amazing, the pool is a gem, and the rooms are chic yet functional. The staff goes above and beyond to make all the guest feel welcomed. We stayed on a Saturday night, so the hotel and bars do get pretty busy. Highly recommend if you’re into the nightlife scene, or if you need a great place to lounge poolside. 13/10. Definitely returning for another stay.

Amazing property from poolside balcony to the inside lobby and Atrium the ambience was very hip. The Quexote restaurant and Gutters both special gems. Room had a nice vibe too bohemian meets art nuevoe. The lighting in the closet area just before the bathroom was way too dim. Get a higher watt bulb with a dimmer. You really crushed it w the remodel. 5 stars

Amazing renovation on this property. Incredible lounge/bar area. Rooms are fabulous next to the pool. Staff is superb and very hospitable! It’s a MUST if you visit San Diego.

Beautiful hotel, you feel like you are walking around in a Wes Anderson movie. Every detail about the hotel is amazing. They seem understaffed though and need more servers by the pool. Also, we had a dinner reservation and we had to wait for an hour to be seated and they did not apologize or offer a drink or anything, that would have been nice.
