Charming cottage

Nice property. Slightly awkward bedrooms. Bathroom accessed through a bedroom. Only heaters are space heaters which worked okay. Front porch/bedroom is on a somewhat busy road. A little loud in that bedroom during busy traffic times. Good access to the ocean and beach.

Great beach property.
A cute little cottage. Although it was small, it was quite comfortable. The highlight of the trip was the beach around the corner. Such a beautiful Sandy Cove. We would stay there again and recommend it to others.

Wonderful beach cottage
We had a perfect little vacation at Jeanne’s beach cottage. It was everything g we hoped it would be. Quiet, clean, charming, very close to the beach. Jeanne was responsive and kind and we are grateful for her hospitality.

Beautiful sanctuary
This property is everything we needed. Quiet place to rest. Sunny cove and the ocean is right in the backyard and you can hear the waves come in at night. So soothing 😌 Jeanne was a clear communicator and helpful during our stay. She was super responsive on any questions too. Thank you so much for letting us stay in your special space ✨️

Santa Cruz Cousin Invasion!
This fabulous beach cottage was perfect for our needs. We had 4 adults and we were very comfortable. The location is wonderful. It is a short minute to the cove, tide pools and the beach. The Wharf to Wharf race came by on Sunday and it was fun watching and cheering the runners on. Communication with the owner was a breeze. The cottage was very clean and the kitchen had everything you would need to cook a big meal or pack a picnic. Five stars for sure!

Wonderful Weekend Getaway
My best friend and I stayed the weekend and had an absolutely wonderful stay. The property was very clean and had everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing home away from home. The short walk to the beach was great and neighborhood was very nice. I highly recommend staying here and the host is very kind and accommodating.

Perfect location
This house was and ideal location! Beach access around the corner, short walk to great restaurants and stores, and short drives to hiking in the state parks and the Boardwalk! We felt like locals in this spot and the whole family, ages 9-40, had a cozy bed and a great time here!

Santa Cruz cottage
Wonderful location and accommodations. We easily traveled to a boat tour in Moss landing, the redwoods, and north for a tour up the coast and had our comfortable cottage waiting. If any issue occurs Jeanne is available to handle it. I would return to this lodging

Girls getaway
My friend and I stayed in this precious old house around the corner from the beach. It had everything we could have possibly needed for our stay. I would recommend more comfortable sleeping areas though. The mattresses were a bit stiff.

Jewel of a property
Jeanne was very responsive and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable, including the sofa bed!! Wi-fi was excellent. Thursday night the road was a bit noisy (my daughter said she kept waking up due to loud people walking by talking and laughing) as the front room is about a car length from the road. I was in the living room and slept quite well. Overall it was perfect for a few nights at the beach and work during the day. Will be recommending to others.

Peaceful cottage in great location.
We spent 10 wonderful days here. Jeanne is a very responsive host. The cottage is simple with everything we needed, beds very comfortable and one can even hear the waves lapping at night. There is a tiny but beautiful garden with honeysuckle hydrangeas and nasturtium, a good place sit. There is a Starbucks around the corner and after an early morning walk by the lagoon and along beaches, it was great to be walk and pick up coffees, 3 minutes away. We all loved our stay and hope to return one day.

The adorable cottage is in Such a great location for a walk in the morning to get coffee and again in the evening after a long day a the nearby beach it’s a short walk to dinner! Look forward to another visit soon!

Modest but nice.
Modest but nice. Two small complaints: 1) Could not figure out TV remotes, such that watched a DVD without being able to control the volume. 2) Could not figure out how to burn anything in the Franklin stove.

I am glad that you enjoyed your stay and I was able to provide the early check in you requested for Thanksgiving. I’m sorry the remotes were confusing. The DVD volume is controlled by the TV remote, although that doesn’t make much sense. The wood-burning stove is like a regular fireplace; you add the log from the front. Small but totally worked
Located in busy road but no road noise. House was very clean and functioned well for the three of us. Queen mattress in bedroom was a bit firm and took some getting used to but I actually slept great. Would stay here again. Thanks!

Quick getaway
Visited from out of town to support an award ceremony for a local college student. Property has a great location, just a few minutes walk to the beach. Starbucks around the corner is a plus and some on the go fast-food joints make it appealing to walk to and from. The property is small but it was plenty for 3 adults. Nice place to stay and enjoy the local scene.

Needs some TLC
I was really hoping to love this place, but I was overall disappointed. I spent the weekend here with my sister and our young children and it was simply not clean. There was mold in the shower, the carpet was stained, walls were dirty and worst of all there was a used bandaid stuck to the comforter. The location is good however the street is very busy and traffic was loud through the night due to lack of insulation. We enjoyed being able to walk to the beach, dinner and coffee nearby. The communication with Jeannie was great and prompt, she was very helpful and accommodating. The house just needs a lot of work and more upkeep. I feel like we greatly over paid for what we got. Paying $150 for cleaning had me scratching my head…

I am so sorry that overall you didn't enjoy your stay. I am sending your comments to my cleaner . . . that did not sound good! Improvements are scheduled for this fall. Convenient Getaway
Hubby, teens, tween & I enjoyed our stay at the quaint cottage. Teens took the patio room, hubby and I stayed in the back room and our daughter had the living room sofa bed. The kitchen allowed us to snack and have our breakfasts on our own time. Table comfortably sat 4. The contents were clean and useable. Super convenient to small beach. We went every afternoon. One approach could be a little steep in places, but the “long way” is an extra block. Owner reached out before stay with clear instructions, tips and her contact information. **the construction** The neighboring property behind the back bedroom has construction from 8:30-5 ish. Originally, we booked the cottage pre-construction. So when the owner notified us in June about the construction and offered us the refund, our first thought was “now what?” Ultimately, we stuck with the original plan. We were ok with the construction times as we were awake most of those times. If you were planning to sleep in, then you might book for a different time. Teens slept through in the patio room. Hubby and teens also managed to take afternoon naps. No clue as work continues to different phases how volume will change.

very cute clean, warm, cozy cottage minutes from beach made it easy to enjoy the beach daily. Cottage had all amities you would need, Owner is very responsive kind and very helpful. I left some items and they will be mailed to me thankfully 😅 since it was my entire make up bag. I will definitely return so many choices to eat near by and not a far drive to santa cruz boardwalk or capitola we had a great time and was very fortunate to add a extra day. Looking forward to returning for a moms retreat next time. Beach access was easy walk down a flight of stairs really a great location right in the middle of everything you want to do.

Very close to beach
We had a great time at the cottage. It was a tad rundown and could be cleaned a bit better (there was gum wrappers behind the couch and Crumbs in furniture, also a bit of mold in bath). I only know this because I had toddlers crawling around on floor. The carpet had a bit of a mildew smell and stained (should be replaced). The beds were comfortable. The front room smoke alarm needs battery replaced as it beeped loudly throughout the night. Directly behind the house, construction was going on so it wasn’t a peaceful, relaxing day. Granted the workers seemed to be courteous enough not being too loud. I felt the owner should have discounted during the days they are working (not her fault). The best part of the rental is that It is so close to a beautiful beach. It is a bit scary and steep to get to the beach especially with little kids but worth it when you arrive. Overall a nice stay.

I am glad that over-all you had a nice time and enjoyed being so close to the beach. Thanks for letting me know about the condition of the house. I forwarded your comments to my housecleaning service and scheduled carpet cleaning. I also plan to make improvements in the fall; it's been a tough year to get things done. Sorry the house wasn't nicer for you. Sunnycove Beach is somewhat of a challenge to reach with little ones, but St. Mo's Beach, the long one to the left, can easily be accessed by wooden stairs on 20th Avenue, a 3 to 5 minute walk. All the best to you!

Construction zone and musty smell!
We learned a few days before our stay that there would be construction going on next door during our stay. Sure enough, every weekday morning at 8:30 AM the construction crew worked on building an addition to the home just behind us. This was combined with a very musty moldy smell which seemed to affect my entire family with allerg symptoms.

I’m so sorry that you were inconvenienced by the noise. I hope that being so close to the ocean somewhat made up for it. Before you arrived, I notified you that I had just learned about the construction, something outside my control. I offered you a full refund should you choose to cancel. You did not. On your first morning, you told me about the noise, I offered a partial refund for the balance of your stay should you choose to leave. You did not. Most vacation rentals do not offer refunds, but I really do want people to have a good time there. Being so close to the ocean can cause a musty smell and the cottage was built in 1899. I am sorry that it caused you problems. I sincerely hope that you did have some enjoyable times there. I wish you and your family only the best.

Overall a good stay. I’d say great but construction started before 8am Monday and Tuesday morning behind the house. And when I mean behind the house, I mean it shook the main bedroom because the wall of the bedroom is the property line.

Wonderful beach getaway!
We had a a fantastic stay, the unit was comfortable and quiet and literally steps away from the ocean! The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking a few meals and we loved being able to sit in the patio area and chat. I would highly recommend this space for a beach weekend!
